I know a few top pros have dabbled with xfit over the years. I believe Larocco was a big advocate & had J Mart on it. Im not in the xfit cult but its definitely giving me a solid base for moto.
Have any of you Vitards done 24.1?
Our Top MX Pros are in such incredible shape it would be good to see how they would stack up against the cross fitters with 24.1, 2 & 3.
I did crossfit for a long time and it helps, but I started a new regiment with an actual trainer that trains MX/SX/Arenacross riders and it helps me a ton more. And I stress 'Me' because everyone reacts different to certain type of workouts. I'm doing more mimicking of 20 minute moto workouts without actually riding. I can tell a big difference in riding now after a few months of the new regiment. But, once again everyone's body reaction is different. I'm also 42 and my body isn't keeping up with the Crossfit anymore. Years of abuse from the Army and riding/racing is catching up to me. lol
Why would I want to do two hobbies that want to hurt me?
Exactly this
I would advocate for Deka training instead of Crossfit. Any HIIT (high intensity interval training) program will serve you well, just avoid Crossfit. There is literally nothing good about Crossfit unless you are built like Christian McCaffrey (e.g. short, stalky and extraordinarily strong).
Deka completely changed my life. I'm 48 years old now and I'm in better shape, stronger, fitter and have better endurance than when I was a college athlete. It's the right way to go about HIIT training. Crossfit is not. There are Deka affiliates throughout the country. Find one and check it out. Most gyms will usually let you try it for free for a week.

12:50 rx on 24.1
12.17 RX for me. I really enjoy CrossFit but it really comes down to the gym you go to. I've dropped in at a few different places and the program can change quite a bit as well as the overall technique and goal of each workout. Some feel like an all-out race every day while others focus more on technique the whole time while you stay moving. There's a time and place for everything and my gym seems to put more focus on technique and skills training over absolute volume or racing which sometimes is tough but I'm thankful to be slowed down instead of getting burnt out.
11:36 RX as I watched my coach across the room do it sub 7:00.
Crossfit is the best training for crossfit.
Thats a solid time from yourself & the other guys on here. I was 12:12 but scaled 🤦🏻♂️
12:41 Rx over here. Been at crossfit for a little over 2 years. Initially got into it to get in shape and help with moto but its turned into another hobby of mine.
Bro!
Honestly, this is my worry at the moment. I've only been doing it 9 months or so now and did my first competition a couple of weekends ago and I'm right there with you. Now I'm listening to podcasts, watching shit on youtube, etc. etc and it's a full-blown hobby like Moto. No real surprise though, I did the same thing with MTB. Started MTB to help with riding MX then the next thing I know I have a season downhill pass and going to US Downhill Nationals and following the World Cup races.
That's exactly how it happened with me. I enjoy it though, keeps me busy during the winter typically in the gym 5-6 days. Come spring I taper down to 3 days a week as I try and ride 2-3 days,
13:26 RX….that 50# DB stole my sole during the snatches.
crossfit is a great option for people that moto.
Lets see how you Vitards do with 24.2 💪🏻
