“Get back in shape” never understood why people say bs like this - with a goal that ambiguous and no plan I’m sure you’re destined for success.

I think it’s a real misconception that everything from China is Junk.. people used to think that about Japan too don’t forget.. Definitely cheap crap can come from China, but that doesn’t mean they can’t produce top quality things. Some of China’s new Electric Cars are very impressive. It won’t matter where they are produced, the quality won’t change.

We are thinking differently. I'm not speaking of a software engine "tune" to find hidden power. What I am speaking of is the architecture of the software used to control the ECU. To be more specific, if they're modifying the control scheme for starting maps and have found improved logic that results in greater translation of power to forward drive...

The assumption is that they unlocked some hidden power from the engine. I would say it's more likely that they've made improvements within the ECU & the starting maps that simply allow the chassis to put the already available power to the ground in a more strategic manner. Perhaps the fella that they brought on from Honda is providing more...

Kind of a weird intro. Not sure why they didn’t just show us a deep dive on the swing arm pivot bolt like most new mx companies do.

mxtech1 Added a reply to How many of you service your own suspension?

Forks are pretty straight forward & can be done by most with some mechanical inclination. Shocks, while relatively easy to disassemble & service, really benefit from vacuum bleeding to ensure all air is removed from the oil. Although the process to vacuum bleed is pretty simple, it's a sizeable investment that most aren't willing to make.

Order fulfillment for production will always trump orders for service inventory. The customer gets shafted, but that's the way business works. It costs the OEM huge $$$ to shut factory lines down due to lack of parts, so when push comes to shove, they'll always prioritize their production needs over customer service requirements.

In all honesty, the trickest Works stuff on factory bikes today is the stuff you can't even see. Electronics, software logic, data acquisition, etc.
I'm on the unpopular side of this one. I like the rule and most guys, especially outside the factory level, always seem to be blown away at how gnarly the pro field really is. I like the idea of them getting a small taste, getting their teeth kicked in, and hopefully walking away going "Shit, I really have to dig deep if I want to do this". Personally, I think it can help some guys make the transition as they can learn what to really expect before it's too late and they've gone full-time. Quite a few kids who have...

mxtech1 Added a reply to HRC TEAM ORDERS ???

IMO, the only orders HRC should be giving to the team is that Hunter needs to be debriefing with both Sexton & Jett at the end of the 250 motos. It seems a little bit childish & short-sighted that Honda allows Hunter to spill the beans to lil' bro, but excludes & witholds the information from Sexton.

It’s an absolute embarrassment on Kawasaki’s part to let this happen. I get they can’t financially do anything for him right now, but christ……Masterpool has been the best Kawi rider on the track for weeks now and they didn’t even have the foresight to make sure he was getting the parts he needed to keep the race bike in good...

Hi Vital MXers! We have some really exciting news at Motoklik, and it's called AiSetup! A challenge for our customers so far has been how to interpret the data, and decide what to do with the clickers. It was always our plan to automate suspension setup, and I'm delighted to say that after 5 years of work, we have developed a product and software that has been giving our customers great results with their suspension, making them both faster and safer. AiSetup is an artificial intelligence based software that we have built into the Motoklik app. It is trained off...

Technically the casting risers are designed in and would be accounted for in structural stiffness models since the manufacturing process does not specify a secondary machining operation to remove them.

The base needs to be ripped deep. Like 7-12” with a moldboard plow. Then top dressed and worked in. Repeat the process many times over to get the final result you’re after.
