Definitely not a waste, charging up to 2nd instead of finishing in like 8th might be the difference between winning and losing the championship this year!

Without that crash he might’ve embarrassed the field, his speed was so next level. Obviously we’ll never know but something tells me that’s not the last time we’ll see that kind of performance this season

So glad he’s going to be alright. My wife and I were horrified when we saw it happen, hands over our mouths for the rest of the main until they showed him standing. From memory, this was up there with Alessi getting ran over multiple times at Red Bud as one of the worst incidents I’ve ever seen. As far as the concrete goes, not sure what they can do about it but I hope they can figure something out. Webb landing on his ass a few years ago was rough to watch, too.

Once in a while there will be a post about who is the best of any one decade, or who could have been champion in any of the eras of American MX/SX, and for me, RJ always comes to mind first. He was as skilled as anyone, and brute strength for sure, a powerful ego of course but also sheer will, sheer will and determination. He was like Ward/Barnett and Hannah all rolled into one.

I wonder what records would have been set had he not gotten injured. That was the greatest era of all.....I'm glad I was there in person. The sights/sounds/smells....forever etched into memory.

Comparing the latest generation to any generation is pointless. Without prior generations learning off the previous it wouldn’t be at the level it is today.

There’s probably a few vital members who’ve seen James in practice for national, on a 125. Same as Jett on the 250. james made me say holy fuck a few times. Jett looked a lot like the other guys. I’ve seen Millville for about 10 nationals. The rasp of his bike and the things he did , he’s the fastest I’ve seen, and I’m not even a fan.
