I thought it would take Jett a year to acclimate to the 450 class; i was wrong.
Imagine, going 22-0 in your first 450 class champ, and barely being challenged, only 1 crash in 22 moto's, very few mistakes with "managing" 2-3 second gaps, no chokes in the last few races as the "undefeated" pressure mounted .....
New GOAT coming....good dude, great personality, good sense of humor, good family, good for the sport.
agree but only between crashes....................
Agreed.

James Stewart was and will always be the fastest teenager...ever...no doubt about it.
As far as teenagers, I think RC would have given Jett the most fits outdoors, but I still think Jett would have beaten The Goat if they had both been racing against each other Rookie seasons. Jett is also one of the smartest young riders I've seen and had James Stewart and Jett Lawrence raced the Outdoors premier class their rookie seasons, I'd think there would be times James might have jumped out to a lead, but Jett would have Dogged him like a Bloodhound until Bubba had one of his spectacular yard sales with Kawasaki parts flying all over the place. Rookie seasons in premier class Supercross, Jett would have smoked both of um, NO CONTEST!
Context is everything, while the ages are similar, Jett came in as a foreigner not being familiar with the tracks, competition and everything else that comes with that, unlike Stew and RC who were products of the ‘system’.
The added difficulties that comes with being a foreigner cannot be overstated. It’s got to be worth a couple of extra years imo. Which makes his accomplishments to date even more extraordinary.
Also remember Jett came in with little to no SX experience……
I wouldn't compare Robbie Reynard to Jett Lawrence. Reynard was a bad dude, but cmon...
Fastest, yes. Based on current performance, Jett is #1.
Isn't Chase the answer to your question?
There is a limit. Rare the few who have managed to ride over it for long.
The smartest pushed it when they needed to and didn't when they didn't.
Jett hasn't even raced Premier class Supercross yet but ok
I think this statement misses some context in the early 2000s and heavily discounts James racing a bike that was half the displacement of his competitors especially in 04/05.
He was so good it didn’t seem to matter what bike he was on. Jett is amazing but how would his record look if he’d been on a CR125 and CR250 the last three years?
That all good and all, except the fact he was 20.
Sebastian Torttelli imo was fastest big bike rider ever as a teenager. But he crashed alot . Got hurt alot . He was at his fastest while a teen and got slower as time went on . Because of being always injured. Js7 was the fastest small bike rider teen . Then there are other rider who if you are picking on pure raw speed are ahead of jett, who never even won championship s . Ie . RR17 ,Bradshaw etc . Jett is definitely in the conversation for best ever teen rider tho .
It's always difficult to compare different era. From Marty Smith to Ronnie Lechien to Damon Bradshaw et Sir James Stewart of course, all have been mega fast teenager. I'd say it's now safe to say that Jett Lawrence is the most consistant teenager our sport has ever seen...
We are talking speed . RR 17 . Was nt consistent ,was hurt alot . Had bad arm pump problems. But on his day no one could touch him including RC4 . There's a few riders have been like him . Like Tallon Voland . he was nt a teen at the time . But when he was on .he was unreal fast , he was all over the place doing it . But there was time s when he was the fastest mx rider in the world. But could crash out next race or just not have it.
Fastest teenager will always be debatable, but the guy has had a year to remember for sure.
Stack it against other 450 rookie years and it's decent!
Remember that one time stew raced a 250f?
……..Gone!! In a different time zone..
Pit Row
Yeah, that was actually crazy to watch. I watched it on TGO and they showed the gap to second...........................................................................................................................Lol.
No one can compare riders from today to say the 80s, even 70s,
the bikes are so much different for one, I mean, what would a 18,19 year old Lechien, Johnson, etc. do on todays equipment.
Just stop it...
But that kinda proves the statement correct. With 2023 tech Jett is the fastest teen we’ve seen. Jett 2023 is going a lot faster then 2003 Bubba.
Pretty much what I was going to say,
Winning your first national is still special.
If you ever saw James Stewart smoke the entire field of 250 4t on a 125 2t then you know
This whole forum has turned into fondling Jett’s balls and pushing electric bullshit.
Bubba raced a weak field his entire lite’s career
He raced multiple national and world champions, and he gave them a 125cc advantage to boot.
James Stewart raced 31 125 nationals. He won 28. All three of those losses were mechanical DNFs.
Racer X forgot that James Stewart existed...wtf. I'm convinced Stewart could have easily beat Jett in the NOW 250 class on his KX125. Not even close.
After the race (Glen Helen) he said something to the effect "riding this 250F is like cheating!" It was the only time he ever raced a 250F - It was the final national of '06 and the next year he was 250 (2-stroke) full time.
