Screw up that corner at the beginning of the race… DAMN it
we finally see beast mode Tomac but it was wasted on coming through the pack instead of giving us what we care about- Jett vs Eli. God damn it. He was unbelievable. Couple more laps and he would have went right by Webb. To come from the back of the pack to right on the leaders ass was insane. You know when Jett and Coop and everyone watches that back they’ll be shaking their heads at that speed. Let’s just hope he brings it at Daytona.
Without that crash he might’ve embarrassed the field, his speed was so next level.
Obviously we’ll never know but something tells me that’s not the last time we’ll see that kind of performance this season
I don't think It was a waste at all. You know it was real Beast Mode because of the way he came through the pack. All about the flow for Eli.
Definitely not a waste, charging up to 2nd instead of finishing in like 8th might be the difference between winning and losing the championship this year!
None of you ever had that feeling when youve crashed in the first turn and ridden out of your skin and turned it around?
Or the opposite where youve holeshot and ridden like a Spode..
Its no different for the pros you know.

Definitely situational. More lines open up as you make passes coming from the back also. He needed a few more minutes in that one!
Jett was in cruise mode, he layed the hammer down when caught coop up in less than a lap. he would have had something for Eli i think
Eli was gaining time on everyone on the track going through traffic, including Jett. And Jett rode at a level that resulted in a mistake that cost him the lead, not "cruise mode". 22 riders started on the gate, and finished the race in the order they finished. If Ifs and buts were candy and nuts, it would be Christmas every day.
When Jett was leading, he didnt need to push the lap times like Eli did. We saw that at A1, he was happy to get a small gap and relax.
The crash was weird... not caused by pushing it. Almost boredom/loss of concentration.
At one point Tomac was lapping 1.3 secs a lap faster. Jett is gonna wick it up and find 1.5 secs?
If you would watched qualifying you could tell Eli was different yesterday. Looked like he was actually trying to set fast qualifying time. Plus in the heat he was on it. If you don’t see yesterday was a different Eli than the start of the year I’m not sure what to say. Hope he brings the fire to Daytona

Jett gets bored easily and makes mistakes. Tomac was faster, but it seemed like a lot of the field wasn’t going that fast, especially JA21 (not sure what was going on there).

Are you effing kidding? Jett was not in cruise mode! Coop was there the whole race. If he was in cruise mode he would not have crashed out of the lead!
I don't know about that. Jett had around 4 seconds on Webb at one point and then Cooper closed it down into the 2s with around 8 mins to go I think and they started fighting over tenths and then he was down. Or that's what I saw on the timing (since they wouldn't show how close they were up front) . I think Jett is smart enough to know that if Webb is close (2 seconds) in the last few laps of a race he can pour it on and get fierce (unlike Chase) and he was pushing to keep the gap outside of that place we have all seen him get dangerous-
Meanwhile ET was laying down faster times in traffic on a gnarly track-

So Jett crashed trying to stay in front of Webb while Tomac was riding a faster pace catching them all while coming through the pack? But Jett still has more speed?

Jett was cruising and maintaining a lead. He made a mistake because he seems to have lapses in concentration. Not because he was pushing too hard.
Webb had 2 seconds on him after his crash and he caught back up to him in no time. Even then his crash wasn’t due too pushing too hard. He picked a poor line and somehow didnt see Friese but still tried to force a pass with no where to go. Probably because he knew it was the last lap he took the first opportunity he had rather than waiting for another.
If Tomac and he both got a start. Jett rides a lot harder than he did with Webb behind him. He probably crashes still because he is pushing hard and Tomac serms far better at riding on edge than Jett. But there was a huge difference in pace on Jett when he needed to make up time. He tries to ride smart when he is leading. That doesnt mean mistakes cant happen.

The track caught him off guard?? Please he’d logged 60 plus laps for the day by then. Over 20 in the main. With all due respect you are incorrect!
I wouldn’t be surprised to see a win streak from Tomac. If he’s found that kind of speed some decent starts and a bit of luck and we could see something special. A lot has to go right to win a championship but getting a second after being down is a great step.
The biggest thing that caught Jett off guard Saturday was Malcolm Stewart in that Heat race...The track was gnarly in the 2nd half and he was trading tenths with Cooper still hitting his marks managing the gap when he went down. He was trying to ride in what should have been a sure thing.
Eli would blown by that front pace, would have been interesting to see what Jett looked like if he tried to wick it up-

Stop defending your king, just accept that eli was setting faster laps than donut boi and was faster overall. I think donut boi inherited chase's bike from last year honestly.
