I say this as a fan of his; that was the most Chase Sexton series of events I’ve ever seen. Ditching the goggles and then making a small mental error resulting in a complete pile drive is somehow so on brand for him at this point. It sucks.

I don't believe the goggles and the crash had anything to do with each other. Ol' boy had some bad luck yesterday.

I think he should've stopped for fresh goggles at the first chance after tossing the damaged goggles. Why wait until possibly catching a rock in the eye without goggles? He probably could've gotten back to 5th or so and had a fresh start for Moto 2.

Disappointed with Prado I expected him to be beating Hunter and Cooper. With 250s Disappointed with Ryder D, I still believe in him just don't know if he believes in himself.

Hard to disagree with this. Jett, Eli and co may have been too far away after the goggle change but Chase would have had plenty of time to get back up to probably 5-6th which would have given him 16/17 points. Not to mention the risk factor - most likely he wouldn’t have held off Eli and then he’s copping roost with no goggles. Hard to say his crash was a direct result of no goggles but it’s highly feasible something else would have happened instead.

I don't agree, he was stupid, his vision was compromised, he was distracted and he crashed. He should have stopped for goggles straight away. Then he may have had 20 + points for the day if he did.

I don’t understand why he waited so long. His speed was limited and each lap he did was another lap he could’ve gotten severely injured. Yeah, it sucks he had to pull in but why prolong the pit stop if you can’t even run the pace you normally can. He’s gone from last to first in a moto before, I think it was a really poor decision on his part to race with a handicap as long as he did.

I think he was trying to run interference for Sexton and in doing so he just slowed himself and couldn't pick it back up.

Great show! Was never into the Crusty, LBZ, Freestyle thing, but really enjoyed listening/learning about Seth's story. He gives much perspective on his background as a farm boy from the East Coast, and how he stumbled into the So Cal moto, Freestyle/Crusty thing. Sounds like lots of luck and timing really. He also provides the backstory on many of his famous jumps(Cinqmars house, landing on the bikes at Glamis, distance records, etc..) Dude definitely had some big balls. I mean it's pretty annoying when half the broadcast team that is shipped in barely speaks the same language as the primary audience simply as an attempt to give the thing an air of sophistication. I'm sure the Japanese love their rider and brands being butchered constantly. Shimoder. Honder. That's not an accent thing.
