Anyone know if Chase is ok?  Injuries?  What caused the crash?

mentally probably not, physically probably.  He hit the rear brake accidentally.

I havent rewatched the crash but they said shoulder injury. Considering he was able to ride back to the pits, i wonder if its an AC separation

Taking a digger like that when it is hot as hell knocks the wind out of you, it didn't look like much on the broadcast, but can tell it was a tough hit (also keep in mind these guys are going twice the speed of us mere mortals). I hope he is okay, and we can see him again next weekend.

It wasn't hot as hell, it was 74 degrees!

Soft ground but it could be collar bone too.

If you take the self induced pressure cooker that is championship expectations off the table (and Chase is healthy), then you may find Chase feels free enough to really challenge Jett on the track.

Conversely, we saw Jett showing the effects of expectations after the moto yesterday.

So, a relaxed Eli that just wants to test himself against the kid. Jett feeling the expectations of being perfect, and possibly Chase with nothing to lose now.  This scenario could set the table for some real competition this summer.

Bummer to see it. He has some shitty luck at Pala. Hopefully he’s ok and can come back full strength for hangtown. This series will be better with him racing!

On a side note, it looked like he was riding an 85 out there. Anyone else notice that? Looks like he put on 15lbs of muscle since Supercross. 😳

We saw him leaving before the second moto. He had a pretty serious limp, but otherwise looked ok. He wasn't on crutches, but looked like he could have used them. Hopefully he heals up and is back on the line next weekend.

Oh my bad. I didn't see the forecast, but since Hymas and other guys were on ice vests I assumed it was pretty hot.

I feel like he couldn't have ridden back to the pits with a broken collar bone. Thats why I guessed AC separation when I heard shoulder injury

assuming he's physically ok, that's gotta be a weird mental hiccup for him. The huge distraction of pulling his goggles, then the brain fart crash (which you KNOW is always bouncing around in his head) to then be lying there for 15 secs with the bike on top of him....to calling it a day.

That would shake even the most mentally strong.

Did Dungey not race on an unrepaired broken collar bone in sx?

If he didn't get his bell rung from the digger...the bike trying to smash his skull had to have.

Same for me both times. That year Reed broke his and tried to do SX practice the next week (2014 maybe?) was just nuts to me. These dudes are a whole different breed

...don't let your competition see you wearing an ice vest when the temperature is in the 70's. - IMO it shows weakness.   Wear it in private.

Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, this guy Jeff Emig showed up at the hottest nationals wearing all black to show the comp that he was fit and not afraid of the heat, and he won those hot weather races.

I didn't see Deegan wearing no stinkin' ice vest...

The same Dungey who shifted his bike by hand over the jumps to finish the race.

I believe he got it plated and then raced the next race.  Coty Schock raced with a broken one in SX last year

I agree with you, I think hymas is trying to do anything to get an edge and you have to respect the effort. But Maybe there are only a few with the championship mindset of mentally and physically dominating the others.

Only seen the replay a couple times but to me it looked like he landed with his arms extended and somewhat above/ in front of his head. Type of fall that will usually cause a torn labrum or possibly rotator cuff injury more so then AC separation which is more of a lawn dart scenario with elbows tucked taking the hit directly to shoulder.

The video on IG said false neutral. He shifted in the air.

I never understood why these riders use first gear as the risk of hitting neutral.  I never used first gear but I also wasnt at the top level. I also realize they run a taller gear ratio to spread first gear out more but damn.

You can certainly pick up a bike with a broken collarbone. Just have to put the weight on the “good” side and lift with your legs. Doesn’t feel great but in the moment it isn’t bad and has always been my confirmation of a break.

Down vote warranted. However, I was thinking today it seems like when Jett is on the track it just messes with him. I’m a huge fan of all these guys but he seems to do really weird stuff when Jett is there. It’s like extra pressure.
