hannah rode a works bike at the 87 mxdn, not remotely close to a stock 87. there are some photos if you can find them, showing clearly the case reed engine, which didnt make production until 1989 model year.

Yeah but take an iconic part of a track away to make a few happy? Naw, I don't think so.

I was watching the webb helmet cam of southwick and noticed they completely removed the switchback before buckley berm so now its just a straight away. I was wondering why tf they would take this iconic part out of the track so I looked around a bit and figured out they did it to put in a new vip seating area. Wtf! The tracks have all become way more straight than they used to be lots of pros complain about this how its making all the tracks super high speed cuz a lot of the switchbacks and slow sections have...

The explanation(s) that are obvious and that no one wants to hear… Many of our tracks/facilities are rural…way out there on country roads with limited access; and, often, with one road in & out. Hell, even Unadilla seems like a pain in the ass to me…but, it’s worth it. Back in the day, Hollister was waaaay out there to most people…and like Unadilla…it was worth it. Leave for the race EARLY. Leave after the race…LATE. These last few years, I’ve “come and gone” from the Nat’s and quite a few SXs on my ADV (even A1/A2 can be a PITA).

I responded to Roller Decoasters post about being a chase driver for Jeff Ward and Micky Dymond for the race across the west bicycle race and got picked. During the 2 days before the race they shared some of the stories from "back in the day" , holy shit... lol. Big Thank You to Roller Decoaster for a week I will never forget. Along the way Tomac's and their son Eli came out to say hi and cheer them on, along with mtb legend Greg Herbold. Don't know if that counts as "In the wild" but wow what a week...

Minear read him like a book. Very impressive from such a young rider. That being said, Shimoda shouldn't be getting out smarted by a rookie. His race craft is definitely the weakest area of his skillset

Reminds me of the country singer who’s song had the lyrics “ and the loud mouth in the corner is getting to me”. Airhorns during list race interviews is irritating as heck.

I’m all for the chainsaws at the MXdN. At an AMA Pro National, not so much. I don’t know what’s more annoying, the air horns and chainsaws during a podium interview or the constant screaming of “Red Bud” by the alcoholics at every RedBud race.

Not that I need the money but some side hustle to support my dirt bike habit would please my wife. Seems like selling air horns and chainsaws without a bar and chain at national races would be a good gig. Buy chainsaws from Alibaba, marketplace or temu. Set up a stand pit side the track and flip for a decent profit !!!! Even have per mix on hand to sell too!!!

Ward didn't, he said he made more money in one year of Indy car than his entire MX career. Ward was the real deal in open wheel racing, second at the Indy500 is no joke.

Sorry to correct you G-man - The full floater did not have any moving parts on the bottom. The bottom of the shock was mounted directly to the front of the swingarm. Where the uni-trak had the bottom of the shock mounted directly to the frame. I've seen and worked on both up close, so I know the difference. The Suzuki compressed the shock from both the top and the bottom, whereas the Kawi only compressed the shock from the bell crank at the top of the shock. So there was really only one major difference in the two designs.
