Awesome, looks like he’s staying with Kawi 👍

Or they’re both leaving.

The fact that we’re even discussing Sexton, one of the fastest raw speed dudes in the series, on a B team is ridiculous for several reasons

please list those reasons...without using AI

Chase won 2 SX races this year. That is good, considering Tomac won 4, and then add in Hunter and Kenny. Then he hurt his knee. He should absolutely stay at Kawi. Would be a mistake to leave.

If he thought he should have won way more races in SX, his expectations were far too grand.

Tomac DNF'd the next to last race.  Couldn't even line up at the last race.

A person that doesn't finish every round doesn't often win the championship.

He would take himself out doing it...

Yea that was like #1 wackiest things to happen. James was talking about how chase looks down at his fender when riding which causes a lot of his problems. He was trying to convince ppl that is not true… and then this happened lol. No shot after that lol.

Well, the question wasn’t to me, but I do agree with there being several, obvious reasons.

$$ - resources - expectations - prestige

For starters…

My bet;

Monster Energy Kawasaki GP Team

Money wise it's Sexton's only option without losing 5-6 million plus or at least a huge penalty from Kawi/Monster

Villopoto did the same thing.....

Why? It's his job to report on the sport. If Chase can't handle that, he needs thicker skin.

Seems he will barely be ready to race no matter what because of his acl surgery in June.  A1 will be just over 6 months post op.  That is on the extreme early end of returning from that safely and being even close to full strength.   If he is switching teams, there will be almost no seat time to get ready.

I don’t see why he would leave due to the alleged salary. With the new bike this year I would think they could find a good setting for him.

If he really does have a 5-6 million dollar contract he should stay put. It will be a massive success for him if he wins 5 races next SX season.

Between JL , HL, HD , KR, JP it will be a battle for the podium let alone a win. 500k in win bonuses does not make up for 2 mil in salary.

I don’t think the perfect bike would help him that much more. He is a great rider. But so are the others I listed. HD and JP are only getting faster.

Winning races is a big thing for a MFG...  And Ducati wants to win.  Not getting that with Colt nichols.

Do they have the resources?  Are they ready for a talent/head case like Chase?  We may, or may not find out...  Wink

Roczen won 2 titles on what some would consider "B-Level" teams. Webb just signed with a B-level team, although in the twilight of his career. Maybe that's what Chase needs: the ability to make his own decisions with his bike, to realize that it's not always the bike..

They are both in the tail ends of their careers. Chase is young. Kenny winning on a B team bike defied the odds and is the exception not the rule.

Then saw a Matthes tweet Tedder.

Think he is done with Kawi and really is wrecking his career.

Since he left Honda without saying by to Lars his career has gone to shit.

Yes he won an outdoor title for KTM but just keeps burning everyone.

RDnutz wrote:

was that outdoor title the 1 gifted to him when all series leader Eli had to do was finish the race but popped his Achilles tendon?

No the one where he finished the series with the most points. Its how all championships are decided

Kenny won on RCH in his prime. Came into 2015 outdoors with the #1 plate, and finished 2016 with the #1 plate. We could even consider TwoTwo a B-level team, and he was winning races/leading championships throughout its time in the paddock.

More reason to credit Ken and say he is an anomaly.
