I reckon he will get one moto win and all the bed bugs will pretend it’s some changing of the guard.  Then proceed with excuses

If it’s going to happen this year, it’ll more than likely be at Washougal which is arguably Deegan’s best track (at least it was on the 250).

Here is what I saw, HD riding on the very limit and looking sketchy a number of times, if you like, a faster Barcia (both love the rev limiter)

JL struggling with flow (not his normal smoothness) but still controlling the pace and staying in front.

There’s no rivalry, just one sided infatuation.

Deegan is obsessed with Jett and Jett ignores Deegan.  The end.

Deegan did exactly what I expected Kitchen and the others to do to Deegan last year... get a little desperate and AT LEAST TRY to get by, maybe give it a bit too much gas... we saw what happened with Deegan when he did it but at leat he tried. He really tried.

Kitchen and the other softies only let him by last year, even slowed a little after they let the Master go by...

Of course, my amateur eyes...but it did look like the JL was a bit too fast for Deegan so he had to to take way too many risks that in the end bit him... but again, at least he tried! Props to Deegan!

Lol, they are purposely ignoring him, so they are definitely thinking about him.  Based on what Deegan has said in the past, we know the ignoring is fueling him to work MUCH harder.  He has shown more speed and already finished better than I expected.  He will get there.  I don't expect him to finish behind Jett and Hunter for the next 10 years.  I don't like his style of shit talking, but it is making him rich.

I doubt Deegan will straight up beat Jett this year, or the next, or the next....

We know Jett is not at his best due to him still recovering from the foot injury. Jett only get better each weekend.

Deegan will hit a ceiling and that ceiling won't be enough to straight up beat Jett.

BTW, I like Deegs, apart from the stupid shit he does witj social media he ain't really a bad kid.

I’m hoping to see Deegan get a holeshot and Jett a not so great start. Then see if Jett hunts him down.

I just can't get over... if he wasn't heel, if he didn't cheat, if he handed over the claimed bike at lorettas, if he won at des nations,  just how many fans this kid would have right now... he would have mc levels of fans rn... he would have hannah levels of fans.. chit he might even have Magoo levels of fans right now........

GT's right, best American rider to come along in over a decade and he's got to be the lamest person alive, disappointing.

Anyway I heard he only got penalized because JT pointed out the line on tv.

Not really impressive when you compare it with a 19 YO rookie who went 22-0 in the same class. Oh I know, "the field was weak"...

The kid really lives rent free in your head. A bunch of grown men in these threads talking shit on these young athletes is wild.

Yeah it's so weird that people talk shit on a kid thats made it his brand to talk shit. Who could have predicted that?

You said it. A kid. Not a grown man.

This isn’t your average kid that came up through the grass roots and nobody ever knew of until a year before he turned pro. No, this is a kid that has been branded and monetized by his dad since he was 6 years old, has been raised to believe that carrying yourself with no class or integrity is ok as long as it pays, and has been the main influence on an entire generation of up and coming riders. He knows exactly what he’s doing. There is absolutely zero child like naivety in that skull of his.

Additionally, many people will always have a bad taste in their mouth after his dad and Yamaha stone walled the bike claim at Loretta’s a few years ago. It’s clear that they were cheating, even when they probably didn’t have to because, truthfully, he is that good. People don’t like cheaters. Especially ones with big mouths and with zero class. Every other professional sport practically ostracizes cheaters. Some of the fans in our sport seem to celebrate it?

He’s fast. He’s clearly fit and puts in the work. He’s also doing the exact same thing his dad did and playing the “bad boy” card because it pays. But when he’s gone in 10 years, the entire gate will be filled with little danger boy wannabes and our sport will look more like WWE than ever. To the outsider, moto will look less like an athletic competition and more like a circus, which is ironic since so many “core” fans already think of SX like it’s a circus.

Seems like without the 7 times 38 cut the track in the first moto, the second moto looked a lot the the first couple races. Except that this week he also got beat by a 19 year old kid racing his first AMA 450 National.

I’ve never really followed it. But I can certainly appreciate it from a competitive standpoint.

Do you have anything else condescending that you want to add? Or was that about as deep as you can reach into that arsenal of quick burns?

I’d say Deegan is improving, but with top athletes the easy gains disappear fast. You can clean up the low‑hanging stuff; fitness, starts, basic pace for a lap or two pretty quickly. That last 1–5% is a different universe and doing it for two full motos is where the true elite live in this sport.

At this point, I’ll actually be impressed by his “improvement” when he can straight‑up pass or hold off Hunter. He’s had the chance two weeks in a row and has failed with every opportunity.

not to mention the: "They know Im coming, he keeps looking back in almost every jump"
Sure bud.... sure. We are 3 races in, first you get the results, then you trash-talk.

Kinda like when he got around Hunter, who gets praised and comments like Jett shold let him take the lead. Thing is, without Deegs making a few mistakes, Hunter had nothing for him. Matter of fact, Deegs gapped Hunter by almost 3 seconds before another mistake allowed Hunter to get back on him. If that's not improvement i don't know what is?

These threads every week baggin on the guy are just crazy. It's like there are 2 different races being watched. Deegs is way ahead of where I expected him to be. From Pala, where I didn't expect him to finish. From Hangtown where I was again kinda shocked seeing his improvement. To Lakewood, where I was "oh shit" another improvement from just last week.

If MX fans can't see this. If Jett fans can't see this, then we really are watching different races every week. That why these hater threads are just gutsy and asking for it.

Look I want to root for Chase, Marchbanks, in the 450 class, so I'm not a fan boy of Deegs, but the races I'm watching, there is trouble coming. Not this season, but if Deegs is healthy going into next outdoor season, the guy is going to be there. Does he win the championship?. I don't think it will be 2027. Does win win moto's? I believe so. I believe if he is healthy, he will "contend" already next year. It's coming guys.

I wish I could watch the races y'all have watched this year and I wish the haters could watch the races I've watched. That would be cool. For now, boast, yell, scream and hate. Because it's comin. It's comin.    And when it does, well it ain't gonna be pretty. Then y'all can still yell and scream, and even hate. But the boasting? Yeah, the boasting will be done by those guys watching the races y'all aren't watching now.

Honestly, I don't see a lot of Deegan excuses by him or his fans in terms of his performance.  People either celebrate or hate his behavior, but I don't see anyone on his side making excuses for it.

Maybe rename this the OFFICIAL Deegan's delusions thread, cause both the lovers and haters equally contribute.

As long as Haidens default mode is to rape the rev limiter and try to ride like an offspring of Barcia and Tomac I think we will see a lot of what we saw yesterday.

He can sprint like that for 10-15 minutes but he lacks race craft and finesse. And I don’t know if that will come as quick and easy as some of his fans belive.

During a race situation you always trail back to your instincts and if this type of riding is his instincts, then he might just end up like a faster Barcia that never fully adapted to the 450 class with his overly aggressive riding style.

As far as his behavior goes and people love to call him a kid and justify it by that, I don’t see any other riders on the gate at the same age acting like Haiden does.

Coenen is one year younger but 10 years older in maturity. At one time I thought that maybe Haiden would grow out of it but it’s become clear now that he will be this classless punk every time he gets the chance to display it, just like his Dad.

It’s good that the core fans are done with it now, unfortunately they seem to bring in a new crowd that id rather not see in our sport…

When you’re 18+ aren’t you considered an adult?

Don’t think he’s a kid anymore.

He deserves all the criticism plus more because of how he acts. Don’t dish it if you can’t take it. Now he’s disabling instagram comments 🤣

Going to push back on that. He's physically grown, mentally, still a kid. Hell, I'm pushing 65 and I'm still a kid.
