Seth and Dylans penalties

Did I miss something in the 250 race?   Why was Seth moved back 2 positions with his very small cutting of the track, but Dylan only got a one position penalty for a much bigger track cut?

The one thing I saw was that when Seth re-entered the track he definitely interfered with the rider who just passed him.

Seth let the rider get in front of him in the whoops,  which was correct, then passed him back. Whether he did it consciously or not it was the right move at the time. No penalty in my non-ama referee mind.

Dylan’s makes sense.

Seth made the safest move IMO.

I understand the penalties for the most part.  But dam Dylan was absolutely flying.

Don't cut the track, don't get a penalty. Both were avoidable, Dylans was blatant he's lucky he only got docked 1.

That was my view as well.   Damn, will the AMA ever be consistent??

Yes, consistently inconsistent.

Hammakers was not penalty worthy. I have never said anything about the Ama specifically on here, but as my kids would say, they're cooked. Based on the last few weeks these guys are, lunatics, deranged, manic, insane... whatever you want to pick for having mental deterioration, they have that. Lewis for defending the dipshit at the top, and then anyone below him. I always liked J-bone but he skirted and danced the whole thing when he was on Pulp. What the hell has happened to calling spade a spade. The AMA needs to not leave anything to their discretion as obviously they fail at making coherent decisions. A

The only thing certain with the AMA rule interpretation is that they are certainly uncertain.

Hammaker could have easily avoided his penalty by just staying on the track.  All he had to do was go a little left and then make the right turn.  However, 2 positions is crazy.  1 max.   Dylan on the other hand deserved his.  Just foolishness to cut that much of the track and then not expect something to happen.  Docking him 2 positions makes more sense for his blatant disregard for the rules.

I get both penalties both track cuts, but to dock Seth 2 positions and Dylan 1 is a pretty bad move. Especially when Dylan cut way more of the track. Never change AMA

This is how I feel. AMA has to keep it consistent with no consistency.

"Hammakers was not penalty worthy."

After Deegans penalty there was no way Star Racing would let that slide.

I think when we see the penalty report it will say why 2…. Not just a track cut I suspect.

I'm curious to see if the track worker picking up his bike for him was part of the reason he got dinged for 2 spots. Would that be considered outside assistance ? I hope not but it wouldn't surprise me, it's not like Seth said hey man can you pick up my bike for me. Guess we'll have to wait and see what the report says.

I guess it's because Seth made a pass during the cut

How much of the track is acceptable to cut while passing a rider doing so ?

This, i don't have an issue with these penalties.

Kinda facepalmed when i heard the Lewis interview with Hammaker a couple of hours ago. Don't cut the freaking track, especially when you had the opportunity to stay on it wihtout any hazzle.

You can cut exactly 0 feet of track... Deegan was penalized for "cutting" about half a wheel's worth.
If there's a wall jump that's 1 feet wide and you go around it you should probably get penalized for that...

Is anyone surprised. The AMA has sat on their fucking hands while the coolest sport in the world's popularity has swooned in this nation with countless track and trail closings all the while they fiddle fuck over helmet law issues. These are the people who destroyed superbike racing in this country while DORNA is drawing 50,000 plus a race to WSBK around the world. They destroyed flat track racing, trials, hill climbs, I could go on. Now they have cost a 25-year-old his shot at the championship he has worked his lifetime for. And everyone involved in this asinine organization is too stupid to realize the level of their malpractice or incompetence. We do not need new leadership at the AMA, their level of shit braininess has been on perfect display throughout our SX series. We need a totally new organization, devoid of the Harley crowd, or one day we will all be wishing our grandkids could ride like we did.

As far as the cutting the track rule, it is a farce. It's not like Hammaker skipped a section of whoops to gain 4 seconds on the leader. If you gain a clear advantage so be it, if not let logic be your guide. Grammar school rules.

This means Simonson got a podium then, right?

Perfectly correct decision. Did you even watch the race?  He could and should have gone around the corner as normal, shouldn't have made a pass cutting the track and continue to race simonsson.

Jesus, it can the any clearer that this. Absolutely no excuse to cut the track and pass another rider.1000012945 0
