40 minutes ago I forgot about Pulp Fiction. To this day if anyone in my family or group of friends asks "Are you ok" ? The answer is always "Naaah man... I'm pretty fuckin' far from ok" Like clockwork 😄

8/21/2026 4:44pm One helluva list. Asking just about anywhere you open your wallet usually gets you something. Our recent Viking cruise in the Mediterranean, while they didn't offer a discount on the intial cruise rate, all incidentals were tossed in at no extra charge. A cabin upgrade was one. The Verizon phone plan applies only to Florida residents.

8/21/2026 2:44pm My BIL several months back had a cancer recurrence. The latest and greatest was Keytruda with something else. Potentially/likely curative. After second treatment his body started attacking itself. It was very bad. Hospitalized for 3 weeks and we are still not sure that the issue has been reversed. They were pulling his plasma every day to get as much out of his body as possible (among other things). Long story short, you may fix one thing but the trade off could be worse. Time will tell. Having said that, I have been blessed with exponential better results from my treatments...

8/21/2026 1:25pm We have 3 cats. They are indoor / outdoor cats. They go out after 7:00am when most of the coyotes are done with their morning hunting. Then my wife calls them in around 1:00. How any of our cats have not been coyote food is a miracle in it's self. We haven't seen mountain lions in the last 35 years but we still have an over abundance of coyotes, possums, racoons,... Apollo is the rodent hunter. Napoleon is he bird hunter, and Stormfly is the reptile hunter. They all are great, they do like to ambush each other when someone...

8/21/2026 1:12pm The lady and I made two trips down the Bentonville this year and rented e-MTBs(Santa Cruz Bullit Carbon MX) both times. Absolutely no regrets. Damn those things are fun!

4 hours ago Oohh I’m probably the guy gt80rider and the analog / non e-bike guys hate. 😂. I’ll occasionally use trail mode on the flats or slight inclines if I’m trying to go further than 22-25 miles. But for the most part I’m in boost, and we’re in full race mode. I know the analog guys don’t like getting passed on uphills...

8/21/2026 12:23pm Here’s the other one, it didn’t load in my first post. I’ve been riding about 4 times a week since 1999, being on these 3 are the most fun I’ve had riding. I still have my pedal bike I take out rarely now.

8/21/2026 12:22pm Just want to second Sumdood's advice to buy the killer one. I did the same for my analog bike and I ride the thing all the time. It's too trick to sit in the garage! Also, I wouldn't worry too much about servicing an e-bike. Your local bike shop can fix wheels, drivetrain (including the motor,) shifting, brakes, suspension and controls. All this whether they sell your brand or not. About the only thing you'd need to worry about is if you need to buy a new battery or controller unit if the bike brand and the electronics manufacturer went...

8/21/2026 12:19pm Great topic... Going electric was about making riding a bike fun again. I spent so many years riding road bikes and measuring my heart rate, recovery times, miles in road, calories, etc... it just too all the fun out of riding. Going eMTN bike was the best thing I've ever done. I did demo a few Specialized Carbon Levo's and a few other brands and enjoyed them. But they felt like bikes adopted to ride the dirt. Not like a dirt bike... I ultimately I went with an Intense aluminum Tazer S. Riding aluminum provided the feel - more like...

8/21/2026 11:40am Maybe expand your thinking there instead of being so negative? I happen to have "Dead Butt Syndrome", atrophied hammys and decades old back problems with disks and alignment needing attention. I also had my knee replaced 13 months ago. Once I rehabbed the knee and spent time in the gym with exercises PT gave me previously for my back issues, I decided it was time to clean up the 30-year-old Miata MTB and see where I was at. Still can't make it up slight grades in my neighborhood without walking and no trails, just like when I parked the bike...

10 hours ago They're not cheap. But the $ spent per hour of riding is way better than any motorcycle I've owned. I'm about to go on ride # 4 for this week. I go semi early, usually 8ish, go sprint for an hour an 15 minutes or so and do 12-15 miles of single track. Then I'll be back home, showered, fed...

8/21/2026 7:21am My 2026 Turbo Levo SL has Specialized SL Custom RX Trail Tuned motor, 50Nm power, 320W power + Specialized SL1-320, fully integrated, 320Wh Battery. My buddy is a longtime Specialized MTB owner and got his EMTB 8 years ago tells me I have the new gear drive motor and his has the old belt drive- but I have not confirmed anywhere. I have not experienced anything close to a loopout and it is very sensitive/intuitive to applying assist that is seemless. Also, it is supposedly limited to 20mph but I've had it up to 38mph on level concrete trail riding...
