yep. Other than the personal preference comfort adjustments, I haven't done anything fancy or expensive. Only signed up for the app because I had to for warranty purposes. I know a couple guys who want to try every setting in the app for battery % in each mode, mapping rides, etc. I'm bored easily with this stuff (ADD since 2nd grade) and just want to do minimal set up & maintenance and go ride.

The dropper seats are so handy.   Getting the seat height right is important so you get maximum pushing with least effort. And You want it so your knees are just slightly bent at full extension. It makes it feel more like walking VS doing squats .   If your not riding at the right height its harder to pedal . Seat height on Ebikes isn't as vital as pedal bikes but still the perfect height makes the ride more enjoyable.

The way that RDnutz described using the dropper is the way I've used it too.  And also on more technical trails while standing you may want to drop it to keep it from hitting you in the ass.

Setting sag and air pressure in the forks and shock is another area that can improve the ride on trails and terrain that your really using it. In my case I'm at the extreme end of the weight range so its important to get the pressure right and keep it there.

It is so crazy how far MTB's have come since the earlier bikes. I had some of the first rockshox forks, I had an ASV linkage fork . I think it was ASV.  How it was all elastomers back then and not much air or spring.   And now the suspension is so good . And the brakes have so much more control.  I wish I had a bike like this when I could really ride well. I would have done some fun stuff. These days I'm a little too brittle to take the hits I used to be able to take. And a little worn out from all of those hits.  But the Ebike allows me to go out and ride fast enough that its still fun even in horrible shape and makes it easier to push myself knowing I can bail myself out with the assist if I get too tired.

Hope you  and your wife  have a lot of fun riding!

I'm one of those guys that does minimal adjustments changes to their bicycles or motorcycles. On my Turbo Alloy Levo I have put air in the shock. Of course Tire pressure is critical. Have not adjusted the bars at all. I like the way they are. The only thing I did do was switch the brake lever to the right side like a motorcycle. I don't like having to think about which is my front brake after riding motorcycles for 60 years.

Then, I have a good friend of mine who bought a 87CR250 and 06CRF450 over the years, just like I had. Of course, he threw every part on it that he could possibly spend money on, while mine was mostly STOCK. Oh and his E-bike same deal!

Some people just love to spend EXTRA money on their stuff. my belief is that the engineers did a pretty good job designing this stuff and just minor adjustments and tweaks are good for me.

Maybe if I had an unlimited bank account, I would go for all the extra goodies. 😜

Yah I see that a lot too. Customers buying a new MX  bike and dropping it off with me and then having me throw thousands in aftermarket parts on them.  Seems like some people get bit with the accessory/upgrade  bug.

Being 6'9"  I've found some mods necessary for motocross bikes for me to get more comfortable.  But my Emtb feels really good stock.  I set the levers up how I like them , I've never had a problem going back and forth with the brakes flipped on the MTB  and MX bike  its strange that even now with MTB's feeling more MX like its still automatic to my brain. I keep an eye on tire , fork and shock pressures.   But it fits me really well for being stock  .  I was thinking about trying some different bars and stem. But its really good as it is.  So other than the fenders, pedals and hand guards  I've kept it all stock. I did get a phone mount and some gopro mounts too.  I might end up trimming the bars and trying some different grips I got at some point.  The bikes seem so much better built these days. Pedals have always been a place holder part on bikes  and the first thing most people change. I swapped my pedals out to a bigger stronger metal flat pedal for now. But I want to get some clip in style pedals.  I had to find some shoes that fit first. But it feels strange not clipped in. I always used toeclips back in the earlier days.

I used to build my own bikes, buy a frame and reuse some of my old bike , some new components. And build them myself. Then upgrade as stuff broke.  The Canyon is my first complete bike that I've gotten since I was riding BMX bikes.

The first MTB I got I bought piece by piece and put around 22K miles on the frame.  I started selling stickers to the other kids before school. They would spend all their lunch money on stickers. I bought the packs that were sold at local shops and trimmed them into singles and sold them.  I was able to build out my first decent MTB that way. Before that I had BMX bikes that I had bought complete and upgraded.  I started with a Yokota El Capitan frame, my parents had a wheelset built for me for Xmas, I bought the rest of the bike with money made from selling stickers. I had the ASV fork and then a Rockshox , all XT components back before XTR came out .  I turned a $11 pack of stickers into a $1200 MTB in the late 80's as a 12 year old. I reinvested in more and more stickers until I was able to build my bike.

Did a muckynutz front fender when picking it up but rear fender they had used the seat pole so it wouldn’t work so picked up this rear fender but its slightly rubbing on the tire so will see how it works out . Also bought a phone mount that had a ball so angle adjusted better.

I don't . Unless I have not found it yet.  I love how some bikes have the hidden built in stuff like that.

I have  a basic mini tool  that I think stores under the seat somehow, and I have a tire plug kit made by muck off that are also bar end plugs.      Most of my rides have been on the trails I've cut into my property that is out behind my shop . Its not a lot of trails. But I have some fun loops and can mix it up with elements of my SXS/MX trails . I had to stay close while I was caring for my mother and lucky for me she loved nature so I had already built some trails up before she got too bad. If I use all of the trails I have about a mile and a half to a mile and 3/4 before I re ride a trail. And I've tried to build stuff so I can ride in both directions so its not always the same thing. Its great for going out quick here and there. I wanna build some bridges and more singletrack lines and really use up every square inch of the property here.

When I start to go out on rides that I won't be so close to my shop I'll  mount up the CO2 and find a spot for the multi tool.

My bike did come with all the basic tools to put it together which was nice.  A good manual pump for the tires was one of the things a buddy that rides a lot had suggested.

I have a SP phone mount that is similar to the quadlock style mounts that You put it on and turn it a quarter turn and it locks into the case. And it replaced the  cap on my stem so it sits at the same angle as the bike display. I've got a mount in my SXS that holds it too. its a cool system, I have not tried quad lock , but I think quad lock may hold it tighter. I get some bounce when things get rough. Parts unlimited has the SP stuff so I've been using it since I'm a dealer and I prefer to use things that I sell. They have an adaptor that lets you use the SP mount to hold a gopro or similar camera.  I;ve been using the cases and mounts for a couple years and they have been great. No failures. Not super hard use , but I do drop my phone enough that it would be destroyed without a case.

The Ram mounts are the ball type, I love those. I have used them for mounting cameras on my  bike and SXS. They have a ball that you can put a bolt through and it comes with a few different sized bolts. I've bolted on some permanent balls onto the roll cage of my SXS for mounting a camera. They are nice and solid and hold well .   Even with a heavier 360 camera on it. And the ball allows a lot of adjustability.  I've mixed some Amazon ball mounts with the Ram stuff and as long as the size is right they work well.

I found this one by Topeak. It’s got a lot but not all sizes, a chain breaker and I can fit 2 master links in there.

It's a pump, it's the size of like 2 tic tac containers stacked on top of each other.  I used to just squeeze the tires and go yeah that's good, now I'm like psi snob, it's stupid easy you just set the psi, hold it on there (no screwing or clipping it on the stem) hit the button it shuts off at whatever you set it at. I bought it on Amazon.

Hump day morning ride. We’ve have an over 60 group of misfits that try to ride in the mornings during the week if anyone around here (S. Orange County) is interested. We start with a few laps around the plump track if it's empty. it was today

interesting! let us know how it holds up over time. Says it's made for road bikes? Nice that it works with Presta valves too. My current bike is 1st experience with Presta valves and I'm not in love with them. My back tire has slow leak since I bought it.  I run 25 PSI in it and bought the Specialized pump for convenience.

We are in Chattanooga Harrison bay state park for the weekend and we took a long ride around the entire campground doing just over 3 miles and I now understand why so many people put different seats on them. Even steep hills on eco are really easy

Tried to beat the heat and stayed on the coast this afternoon. San Onofre bluffs ride. The boys were busy on Pendleton. Lots of touch and goes in helicopters. Didn’t see any Ospreys today. Checked out the new buildings by Red beach /  Las Pulgas before we were very politely asked to leave lol. Lots of waves ! Corduroy to the horizon, non stop sets. Watched 2 guys try to paddle out and get Denied.

I used to get a kick out of watching the LCACs training when I drove past. Especially coming ashore.

Anyone have pictures of your local trails ? Someone has been busy at the dog park. New trail signs are popping up, most of trails are cleared and maintained. And new ones are being built. Here’s a new one, “Tiger Woods”. The curved wooden ramps look super fun but the do or die gaps after them are a deal breaker for this 67 year old. It would be more like “Tiger Wads” 😄.

agree on the jumps/gaps. at our age- what's the point? even if 1 could safely clear the gaps- what does that get us? Bragging rights to a limited audience? I can see it with youngsters with more bendable bodies and recovery power that could build confidence and advance skills from there as they were working to become competitive racers. For me, I just want to play safely and live to do it another day!

This is probably going to fall under things old people say for 100 Alex, since there’s two jumps in a row, make the takeoff and distance identical, only make the first one a roundly table top that you can land anywhere on.  Then when you can downside the first one, you do the same thing over the gap on the second one, like jump school for newbies. Maybe the braking bumps on all the jump faces will go away too😂😂😂😂

agree on the jumps/gaps. at our age- what's the point? even if 1 could safely clear the gaps- what does that get us?
