But isn't the rule 'wheels on the ground'? Or is it 'no double jumping'? Because if it's wheels on the ground then Joe is guilty also because he jumped, just less. I'm just saying this is a huge mess. And the AMA is an embarrassment to our sport and the athletes. Clearly Joe got ripped off.
We going to see who has more pull….Honda or Yamaha….and no..I didn’t say HRC Honda, we know what HRC stands for👌….
Doing the right thing is so soft

Damn, did Eli and Webb jump with that flag out? If so. That's crazy if they dont get docked.
What does this even mean, how can you pass Joe if you’re in front of him for the last 17ish laps, holding off Jo Shimoda isn’t easy and deserves tons of credit.
Stoked for Pierce to get his first win, while running the #163 too, this is gonna be a good series
It seems like it shouldn’t take that long, but I’d rather that they take the time to get it right and not have it later overturned on appeal or something like that. There are likely some legal issues that are going to pop up so I would imagine that the lawyers are going to be looking at things as soon as possible.
You want to bring back the guys who black flagged Chad Reed with no replay review? Then suspended JS7, the biggest star in the sport, for so long that he just retired instead.
There is no person better qualified to referee these races than J Bone. Who is the FIM going to bring in?
Pretty sure the guy FIM appointed had never even raced. Like ever.
not a fun day to be a referee
I stole this from Facebook, but it gave me a laugh.
no, i'm not advocating for people to start suing the AMA....but....with potentially hundreds of thousands on the line in bonus money for a win, I'd certainly consider it. Joe won that race (or should have). Brown should not have passed him and broke the rules to do so. Simply because the AMA is inept and has to CYA now, that shouldn't change the fact that Joe is out a LOT of money because of their foul-up.
BTW - don't we have a few AMA guys in here? Pretty telling that they won't chime in.
Roczen jumped aswell, I'm sure all 3 will lose 5 points
They've never been that technical about wheels on the ground. If you go look at anyone rolling a jump on a red cross, many times the wheels leave the ground.
LoL WTF are you talking about...How smart would it be for an AMA employee to make any kind of definitive post about this situation when their employer is reviewing the issue?
No doubt the AMA is sorely lacking when it comes to allowing this to even happen and also being sooo slow to make a determination on who's getting penalized but that has nothing to do with AMA employees who post here stepping in and making any kind of call before their employer makes that call. Good way to lose your job.
I’m starting to suspect the title sponsor is weighing in on the decision…
this is kenny behind eli, not webb. They pulled the flag when webb was about to jump the finish line
So many shit takes on this thread. Brown must be penalized.
Now they updated the points standings
Pit Row
If that's the "final" word, the AMA is just stupid, illogical, and inept.
I think that may not be the final decision though?
They will need a couple of days. Code statement for “we aren’t changing anything and by then the focus from the fans will be Daytona”
Spot on. Sure does benefit the Monster Energy Star Racing team
If the AMA does not fix this, they must admit that it is NOT a sanctioning body for a professional sport (but an entertainment company). And all fantasy leagues and sports betting must be stopped.
There's no way to justify not docking everyone who jumped. It's on video. The rule is clear. Doesn't matter if the light was supposed to be on. There's no argument to be made for leaving it as is if you're going by the rule book. Honda should rightly lose their shit and be as annoying and disruptive about this as possible if AMA doesn't do the obvious thing on this one.
If anyone from monster or feld so much as offers an opinion on this the AMA should publicly blow them out for it too.
Prove that you care about your credibility, AMA.
Surprise! Or not..
"No violation was determined" is just embarrassing language to use here. They are trying to create ambiguity where none exists in order to absolve them of the responsibility of making a hard decision and defending it.
Good lord, as mentioned above it will all be forgotten by this weekends race and the pods and race telecast will be instructed to sweep it under the rug. Bad enough we have to put up with RC and Diffy calling the races, but these rule interruptions are the icing on a 💩 sandwich this sport is becoming
I don't know the details around the 450 incident but no violation in the 250s is ridiculous. It clearly had an effect on the result of the race.
You'd hope AMA would at least be having SERIOUS meetings with their flagging team? Or are they still using volunteers? Either way it's laughable for a "professional" sport
Yes it will be really hard to take the ama serious after this.. and it’s been hard before also! It will be embarrassing listening to if any involved ama staff like Yogi try to explain this.
They docked every rider who did it across the finish line at the triple crown in 2023. Even docked Anderson for doing it twice.
But now it’s just cool for riders to ignore the lights? Shimoda was absolutely screwed here.
Where did you find this? AMA has not released the post-race penalty report for Arlington on their site yet.
