But fuck all the MX gear companies, you’ll all go out of your way to buy Temu gear and not support them?

Make it make sense folks.

Who the hell buys gear from Temu??

A cheapskate

Where do you think 90% if not 100% of gear is made...it's not in the U.S. , it's overseas and then marked up like 1000%

One way they get around the textile protections is everything made in say Taiwan and shipped to the U.S. to have a zipper sewed on and then stamped made in the U.S.

I'm not buying a $200 pant and $90 jersey.

I wear Renen, I thought that was made in America? Brands like Canvas and Renen seem to be doing OK?

Compared to what? There's the couple grand in gear, then you need a bike. I guess compared to racing cars it's cheap, compared to basketball or soccer though?

I played club sports growing up and all through HS. You’re wrong, moto gear is expensive.

I'm at Mini Os and the lack of respect from kids and parents, that I'm not surprised companies leave the sport. Thor has a hospitality truck set up with bean bag chairs and kids turned it into a jungle gym. Moto kids also cant listen to simple instructions about stay to the left or right of a starting lane to make room for others, and the parents are no better. And I guess free water in staging means throw the trash on ground. And dont get me started on golf carts. If I was a sponsor and saw the lack of respect or professionalism from many of these parents and kids I'd question my investment.

It never ceases to amaze me honestly - old man rant incoming (I am not old).

I coach 2 of my kids Flag Football teams. 1st/2nd & 5/6th grade divisions.

There are three rules every player on my teams must follow or they are benched immediately.

Be humble in victory. Be gracious in defeat. Have respect always.

Over the weekend we had playoffs, and despite us getting absolutely SMOKED in the semi-finals, we put a good drive together that had the other team livid. The all-star of the other team missed a big flag-pull that resulted in us getting a first down.

The kid, no more than 11, looks at the ref and screams "HOW ABOUT A FUCKING FLAG CHECK" - I figure the kid is going to be ejected & proceed to have the snot knocked out of him by his parents.....Nope.

The coach of the other team goes "He's right ref, what the fuck was that?!?!". The parents begin booing the ref and hyping up the 11-year-old that just cussed out the adult/ref.

It's not the music, it's not the video games, it's not society.... Its shitty parenting, plain and simple & if that offends you, congratulations on being the problem.

Jeez. I’m not normally a violent guy, but if I were the ref, I would smack the shit outta that kid’s dad, then got in my car and drove off…. straight to my attorney.

My 40 year old nephew was one and done coaching his sons 8 grade football team. He said the kids would flat out refuse to do what they were told and the parents would heckle and cuss at him from the stands.

Should’ve been an automatic ejection. They wonder why they can’t get volunteers to ref…same with teachers in schools, can’t call the parents because you are picking on my kid, he said he didn’t do anything wrong…when did parents start believing their kids over authority figures??

It’s so bad back home with the kids footy that they ran ads on national tv telling parents if they don’t chill TF out youth football will be shit canned .

If you want to see the ad Google “ Ray Winston football ad”.

My 40 year old nephew was one and done coaching his sons 8 grade football team. He said the kids would flat out refuse to do what they were told and the parents would heckle and cuss at him from the stands.

I don't blame him one bit.

Before every game I tell the opposing coach & the refs the exact same thing: "If any of my kids, or any of my parents, are disrespectful, you tell me first and I'll fix it. If I can't fix it, I will kick them out for you."

Coaching is as much about teaching the kids how to be successful at life as it as about the sport you're teaching them to play. Good things happen to good people. Maybe not in the moment, but everyone will reap what they sow.

I'd like to think that's why in 3 seasons we have a Championship, a divisional Championship, and have made the final 4 every year.

If anyone here ever wonders why it seems no one has any respect, I encourage you to go your local youth sports event on the weekend. It will take all but 5 minutes to get see your & hear your answer.

I thought the same thing, but sure enough, not so much as a warning.

Truthfully though, shitty parents/kids/coaches are a huge part of why we win as much as we do. When it's a coin-flip of a call, who do you think the ref making $15 a game is going to give the nod to? The coach that is literally screaming in their face, or the coach who had their kids line up to shake their hand before the game?

That’s a user problem because their bike wash works just fine, I use it almost exclusively because I like that they don’t do animal testing and it works just as well or better than anything else I’ve used.  If you want to keep using Simple Green and dulling the hell out of all of your anodized parts be my guest, that’s what I call an idiot tax.

BRAND NEW BLUE ANO’D HUSKY ACCESSORIES!!!

Fuck Simple Green! 🤣

I've been using Simple Green for a long time, and haven't seen dulling.  Are you guys using a strong concentration or soaking it?

I've been using 20% without issue.  Then again, I currently have clear anodized rims.

I spray it on, then immediately start up the pressure washer and rinse it off.

I have blue rims that I'm about to put on the bike, so I'm very curious.

I've had several YZs with blue rims (and other bikes with various colored rims) and use dilluted simple green. Not 1 sign of dulling. I also have Purple Power that I have used, also never had an issue. I do have Muc-off but typically use that for my MTBs.

DB stated on his podcast today that Muc-Off’s reason to pull back its title sponsorship was due to tarrifs gouging what they were able to spend on advertising.

The same people who use Rotella

That’s such easy out. May be true. But you’ll never know. Good excuse if it is one also terrible for the people that are going to say “make it in America”.

I used Purple power on my new 1997 CR and it looked like I threw it in a fire. Turned everything dull and black that was aluminium.  Simple green has never been a problem to the level that Purple power at full power was. I spent many hours with scotch brite to clean up my engine and frame after.

I use Muc Off foam and Dawn dish soap. If You  follow the directions to make Your own Dawn powerwash, that stuff works well in a foam cannon. I've had great luck with it . Similar results to the Muc Off snow foam at a drastically reduced price. You can use the Dawn power wash refills in a foam gun too and they work great, just more expensive than making Your own.  Down Powerwash is pretty much Dawn dish soap, distilled water and some Isopropyl alcohol .  You can use tap water if You want and I've used denatured alcohol before too. Just need to read the labels and make sure its the correct kind since not all denatured alcohol is created equally. The instructions I found to make the home made powerwash had the info needed to get the correct ingredients and why each was needed.

I went into a local hunting store Saturday to sign a petition on local tax rates. Looked at the prices since I was there, and had been at Motosport Hillsboro buying a new helmet right beforehand. Benchmade knife cabinet - a simple folding knife started at $150 and went up over $1000. Binocular rack started at $2,200 and went to over $6000! Bows - nuthin under $350 except the junior bows. Guns, how much you want to spend? $10,000 for one, easy to do. Didn't even look at boots or clothes. You could easily spend $20,000 to outfit one person. I grew up hunting, fishing, and trapping, and there's no way in hell I'm spending that much coin to do it now. $20,000 will buy a lot of filet mignon, and was about what we'd spend on a full race season the last few years (100+ gate drops a year).

Should’ve been an automatic ejection. They wonder why they can’t get volunteers to ref…same with teachers in schools, can’t call the parents because you are picking on my kid, he said he didn’t do anything wrong…when did parents start believing their kids over authority figures??

I thought the same thing, but sure enough, not so much as a warning.

Truthfully though, shitty parents/kids/coaches are a huge part of why we win as much as we do. When it's a coin-flip of a call, who do you think the ref making $15 a game is going to give the nod to? The coach that is literally screaming in their face, or the coach who had their kids line up to shake their hand before the game?

As a youth and adult soccer ref I can tell you in youth it’s about 90% parents are the issue and in adults it’s 90% 1 player is the issue.

I've been using 20% without issue.  Then again, I currently have clear anodized rims.

I spray it on, then immediately start up the pressure washer and rinse it off.

I have blue rims that I'm about to put on the bike, so I'm very curious.

Use Shout, works great no risk.

I played club sports growing up and all through HS. You’re wrong, moto gear is expensive.

My friend’s kid plays travel hockey. He’s a goalie so I guess they get a discount to offset the cost of the pads/masks. We race hare scrambles. I bought a used KTM 85 for my son for $3200. He will get three years out of it. My friend paid close to $3k for one season of travel hockey. Pads have to be replaced every season because his kid outgrows them. Took a slap shot in the mask from an ex-NHLer at a training camp and cracked a mask. $300+ to replace it. A lot of the tournaments run Thursday through Sunday night so that’s multiple days off of work/school. All in I know I spend way less than him plus I can sell the bike and put the proceeds towards a 125 when he outgrows the 85.

Gotta give it to the guy though, he’s made himself a presence in moto by simply reposting news from other outlets. Impressive, really.

I don't follow that page, he must spend a ton on promotion or its just other people interacting with it so the algorithm shows it to me. I try to always scroll past and not hover, yet it keeps popping up in my feed.

I hate modern social media.

Press on the three dots on the top right of the post when it’s in your feed, scroll down to “Hide all from Dirtbikelover”. You won’t see their posts anymore.

Difference is, you're in at as a hobby, they're in at as a sport with intention to progress. Go take your boy racing seriously and you'll sing a different tune. If your boy raced 85's seriously, you'd be in a ton of money just to keep that thing running. Add in trailer costs, travel costs, fuel costs, parts, trainer, gear, medical costs. Break a helmet, that's 800 bucks for a new one. Knee braces aren't cheap, either are boots and kids outgrow those as well. It isn't cheap. Sure, the weekend warrior can get by relatively cheap, but compared to pretty much any club sport, racing dirt bikes at an equivalent level is exponentially more expensive. All sports are expensive at a club level, but your original statement is simply not true.

Not one of my hunters buddies nor myself use a $10000 gun, that’s ridiculous. We can play those games with anything ie burning $25 a gallon fuel or buying a $100,000 truck just to get to the track, but moto is expensive compared to most sports when you look apples to apples
