Your comment, that i replied to, was the cost of  feature riders vs ticket sales. I was simply pointing out that ticket sales would cover their cost. If you wanna discuss WSX finances, that’s a whole other story. But in short, I don’t think they’re aiming to make mega profits at this stage.

RAF Mildenhall?

I was stationed at Bentwaters but the hospital is on Lakenheath.  I was stationed at Mildenhall years before.

Stark riders have had a disappointing night except Hicks who showed podium potential.

With every race it's going to become harder for the AMA to pretend it's not safe to race them when Roczen, Deegan, Cooper, Anderson and co race them in this series.

Imo this is the perfect place to trial Starks in the traditional classes, but let’s wait and see how they develop at that level before jumping in the deep end in AMA. We don’t need another four stroke vs two stroke debacle.

Geeze Sully, I didn't think You'd be one of those that put s**t on Tim Gasjer.

To repeat, as I have done many times when people here go on about TGs SX 'failures' , his first Monster Cup, he lasted longer on the track than Tomac did before his own prang, and, in his second MC attempt in 2019, he got 5th overall.

Not that bad when you consider how many SXs, say Eli had done when TG did his first one, and, I think, ( if the German Luongo Disaster SX  race was between the two Monster Cup appearances by TG) his second Monster Cup was his 3rd 'SX'. So, 5th overall is pretty bloody good, against riders that had done a huge amount of SX races / seasons.

Wasn’t shitting on the guy at all, just thought he’d be over it after his first two attempts. You’re right, though, he did last longer than Tomac.

Thought that was pretty boring. I'm glad I didn't pay for it. And I almost did. Luckily somebody in this post said that they got it on sling and certainly amazingly fantastically. It was on sling

I just happen to have sling..

I will never pay for this package.

Better whoops than anything we've seen in Feld SX the last 3-5 years.

rain for real? cruelly unfortuitous for a debut such as this, we seriously need covered-only venues for indoor races.

I don't believe Argentina has any covered venues

Well i got a free link to see the last 3 races, and it was as good as its gonna be with the field they have, last MX2 race was decent, even though Anstie ran and hid at the front

I thought the track was decent, lights looked a bit iffy, i had paid $30 to see nothing , i would be spewing, but for free, it was worth staying up till 2.30AM for.

What was up with Nosh Viney? Looks like he just gave up in all three races.

Also friese did not impress at all. I don't like the dude much but he surely is better than what we saw last night.

ngl that event and track was kinda cool. Place looked packed, crowd was into it, racing itself was cool, track had sx scale... The worst thing was how loud the stadium announcer was (or probably the overall mic setup I guess).. that ruined it a bit for me. But hey nothing what cant be fixed. The broadcast was "supercross non usa edition" meaning its not a commercial with some racing in between instead just straight forward racing, which I liked the most.

Yeah this was a successful event imo. They need to make sure this is the minimum standard, then they would really be onto something.

Agree, only thing that also looked weird to me was the lightning. Maybe it was just the stream, but it looked too dark overall, other than that it was good event and next week we even have Tomac vs Kenny!

I don’t understand that. Roczen must of been to far ahead for Deegan to see him. That Suzuki was so flat through the whoops was incredible.

He's probably comparing himself to Justin Cooper and Zaragoza.

It beat not having any racing.

The announcing was over the top with the faux prestige of the WSX Championship. I get respecting it, but eventually it gets laughable.

Kenny looked solid on the Suzuki! Happy for him.

Deegan was good through the whoops most of the time. He made some bad runs through the whoops, a lot like you have been seeing from riders your entire life. Someone doing well for 5 laps, then suddenly put together two sketchy, slow runs.

Roczen talked about how slick the track was and that it had gotten even slicker and he had sketchy moments in the whoops from over charging them. He said that when he backed it down a little, it would fix the problem.

Deegan doesn't have that kind of discipline yet. Roczen didn't either, at the same point in his career.

So how does WSX work now?

Are they still paying the teams travel money?

Do they pay any purse, because I don't remember it being mentioned. Is there a points fund?

This is the third year, and they have to be further away from turning a profit than ever.

Hardly any sponsor signage, not even some second-tier energy drink.

PPV certainly is not going to be a money stream until they get their act together. Reading comments here, last night's fiasco set them back to 2023. Not sure they have the product yet to bounce back like MX sports did after MavTV.

People who fund a venture like this do eventually lose interest rather than continuing to lose money.

While last night was certainly a better effort than we have seen in the previous years it still coms way short on living up to the hype.

I found amateur arenacross racing in Clarksville, TN on FS1 before finding out how to watch it for free.

It was not all negative.

It was interesting to see the starks integrated into the racing

Their production had some interesting features. The scrolling signage could be a little distracting but will certainly be something that might help get some sponsors.

The podium was pretty cool.

Anstie gave the youngsters a riding lesson and then a how-to on post race interviews. They will be paying him to come race even after he stops winning because of his positive interviews. Nobody wants to hear a whine fest about penalties and bike problems. Yeah, losing is tough, but people don't come to races to hear your problems.

Track was much better than the comments beforehand would have forecast. It got slick because of the rain the day before but everybody raced the same track, and there were some good battles.

it will be interesting to watch the remaining rounds and hope for at least this level of racing, But please maybe just a little less hype until WSX can show some consistency.

I’m with you on everything except the sponsorship stuff. I actually thought they did better this year.

Monster had tough blocks. And on the stands I saw monster, Kawasaki, hertz, and Oakley. I thought it was pretty well done without shoving anything down your throat.

Overall, skid Ralph, get DB a suit, add better live timing and you got yourself a pretty dam good event here.
