Typical Vital soap opera.

“That Deegan shouldn’t be able to represent USA with how he rides. We don’t want him.” Then Deegan finds out he can’t ride due to injury. “Oh ya Deegan what a coward just like before he won’t ride for USA.” All paraphrased but it gets the point.

Jeez you guys are insufferable haha.

Its like a giant percent of the Vitard community forgot that in '22 USA won because Justin Cooper finished 4th in one of his motos and top finisher in MX2 convincingly. Going 9-4 in your motos on a 250 is very good. J-Coop was the hero of Team USA that year. Now he answers the call again. Should be good. I'd be more worried about RJ. But if he rides smart, we definitely have a good shot.

RJ and JCoop should both be good in moto 2.  Might even finish next to each other.  It's JCoop in moto 1 and RJ in moto 3 that is the question.  I have to think one of them, in one of those motos will get a good start and put a good score on the board.

so the totality of our moto media reports on one of the most polarizing riders leaving one of the most prestigious races...by tweeting out a few words? Sigh. And then in 3 months they'll talk on pods about the "rumors" they were hearing in the days leading up to this news....yet never reporting on it.

Just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

I haven't forgotten. Eli winning moto 1 set the tone and then Justin got a great start in moto 2 and held on up front. I was there and it was my favorite day at any race since the 87 Des Nations. As you said RJ is maybe the biggest question mark. It really all comes down to getting good/great starts. Eli might be able to make some hay with a mediocre start. I'm looking out the windshield now regarding this whole situation. We have a really solid team that is capable of bringing home the Chamberlain trophy and adding to our tally of wins in this event. Me and the boys hit the road at high noon tomorrow! USA! USA! USA!

It was a great day.  Started with us pulling in to the parking lot, and an SUV pulls up beside us with all the Monster girls. Got upgraded to Silver VIP, beer was free, drunk Irish guys were hilarious to watch, our team won, didn't get stuck in the rain drenched parking lot on the way out.

sure lots of monkeys in pants spewing their thoughts.    but your summary is maybe inaccurate.

the kid is not representative of American ideals, demonstrated by his actions in Vegas.  and most don't want him on the team, primarily from that alone.   if he'd simply ran away in the final moto, and shook Joe's hand afterward and said,   "Fuck Kitchen" on the podium, no worries.

but he exhibited a dis-regard for decency and respect, that for most, is what the core of America is about.   and therefore, he seems ill-equipped to represent us, regardless of his capabilities.

Justin seems to be someone who has these desired qualities.   I'm thankful that he's endured the insult and will represent us.

lol, he didn’t want to ride it last year and had the team cover for him, same as the prior year. This year he’s not up to speed after the surgery, which is understandable, and again uses the team for cover

How many bullets is "The Team," going to take for this circus family?

Wants to ride a works bike at an amateur race. Oops, it gets claimed.

Wants to post yet another video on YouTube,  oops Cooper Webb is in the background when he shouldn't be.

About 8 races where he rode like a total douchebag, my favorite being the one in which Seth Hammaker's mom made him look like a cuck.

Honestly I hope someone in Haiden's corner makes him attend MXdN with the team. That way he can watch what he missed, so he can fully understand how wasteful his SMX takeout crash was. That way he actually "gets it".

I'm guessing it was the folks in his corner who advised him not to ride it the previous couple of years.

I think RJ’s grit and determination will be a big factor. He is no longer the win or crash guy he was in 250s. I remember him leading and crashing in a MX2 qual race France in ‘23.
He’s changed a lot since then.

The 450 has really settled him down. It's a shame he couldn't have 450 ride a couple years sooner. Who knows? He could put in a hero ride and win the thing for us Smile

I think the kid can be a numbskull but damn, as a fan of the sport I’d have loved to see him go up against the Europeans.  Justin Cooper is a fantastic rider, a great guy, and should be a great addition to the team. This feels right after Cooper was basically given the spot only to have it yanked out from under him when Deegan said he’d race. It feels right for him to get it back, but slightly less exciting.

I’m not American but I’ll be cheering for the USA, as I always have since the 80s when guys like Bailey, O’Mara and Johnson dominated. If you’re a young guy who’s never seen the 1986 MXdN, do yourself a big favour and watch it before Sunday. If that doesn’t get you excited, nothing will! O’Mara had possibly the best ride in MX history.

I just hope Canada qualifies without Wright there.

Yeah I was definitely looking forward to him racing the other young dudes in the 250's.. Some have so much certainty he is the best 250 guy in the world and I wasn't so sure! I'm not saying he isn't just not sure he is haha

Was finally gonna get some sort of an answer but alas

Even then, it’s just a data point as MXoN often has a performance that isn’t indicative of true performance.  No disrespect intended for Coldenhoff, but he won 4 MXoN motos in a row.  Nobody suddenly said he’s the best MX rider on the planet.  But those rides are in the books and impressive just the same.

All depends on how much the promoter bastardizes the Ironman track to throw our guys off.

They still race the same track no matter what so that should never be an excuse.

those two things can be true at once. he shouldnt represent the team, but if he says hes going to, he should stick to his word, and him not doing so is simply looking more and more like par for the course.....ironically reinforcing again why he shouldnt ride for the team, but for slightly ancillary reason(s); all of which ultimately go to character anyway

Yeah that's why I said 'some sort of an answer' unless he fully dominated or struggled (with no crashes or anything like that) plus with the 250's having the disadvantage.. but still if any of the Euro kids caught and passed him in a race it'd probably show he's not the out and out best in the world.. Saying that I wouldn't say the Euro kids were either

This has been an very interesting topic to read. Seems like most right really don't like deegan. I kinda wonder how many of you people have raced at some level. How many of you actually poured your entire heart into something.  Even if it was just on a local level. How many of you actually have the ability to not except failure. Yes I'm a degan fan , yet he made some mistakes , yes I hate freestyle with all my heart. But for you guys to throw him to the curb. A once in a generation talent is rude. He does things on a dirt bike to entertain us that we can't even comprehend. Just like Stewart did. Jett is also doing it but it seems so anti climatic because of the way he does it. So  quit your whining about him it's getting old. Sit back and enjoy the ride. It might be awhile before we see this again.

I was skeptical of JCoop at RedBud 2022, but man he delivered, agree 100% he won it for us and crushed it.... he's a gamer for the USA

From what i hear he was going to be making a big sponsor announcement at MXoN. I'm willing to bet that why he even attempted to ride and kept the hope alive. love or hate the Deegans, they are great at marketing!

The fact that many in here have/do race is a big reason Deegan's antics are questioned.

From what i hear he was going to be making a big sponsor announcement at MXoN. I'm willing to bet that why he even attempted to ride and kept the hope alive. love or hate the Deegans, they are great at marketing!

I'm guessing that sponsor announcement is the fox announcement. Not completely sure though. Again, it sucks that he's hurt and wasn't able to fully heal in time to race, I hope he races this race at least once in his career, but who knows at this point.

lol, Jett is the current FMOTP, yet you are more impressed with DNGR because he over revs his 250 so it makes him generational
