Can’t wait for all the 50 year old vets to start claiming their new KX450 isn’t fast enough 😅

As for Chase, I have a feeling every bike is going to have an issue for him. I like the guy, he’s just been kind of a headcase.

I just listened to the Hangtown recap and ML said Kawi had been detuning the bike for Andersons preference.

I just figured with Prado having tested the bike quite some time ago they would of already figured out his preferred engine package and electronics by now.

And yes I know he was hurt and lost valuable seat time as such.

Just a guess on my part.....  Maybe he now has basically no trust/faith in his employer anymore?  There may have been some behind the curtain rumblings that Joe public is not aware of that he has heard.  What we have heard about the KTM group is bad enough to make anybody have some doubts about them, let alone being on their team.  Again, this is just a guess.......

But didn't he say the day before in a weege interview I think it was when talking about the bike, he said the engine is good was just doing suspension testing after first round. But now its slow?

I'd say that too if I'm him and just got smoked by a 32 year old two weekends in a row.  It's a cruel world.

AP seems enthusiastically happy with his emplyer. The one him and Chase share. Wasnt Chase salty with Honda when he was ready to move on, too? Or am I remembering wrong? He's going to be on his 3rd team in a drastically short period of time. Kinda seems like its on him

Agree, it is on him.  As far as AP, let's be honest, he'd probably seem enthusiastic if he found a corn dog on the ground.  One of the reasons everybody loves that guy unconditionally.

Not good for Chase to be burning bridges this quickly. Chad Reed did it too, and then he had to start his own team. Granted, there's more options now with Triumph and Ducati in the mix, but I'd imagine those bikes will take some time to get fully dialed in.

AP7 made that Orange Pig look good good at Pala, and really good moto 1 of Hangtown.  The Lawrence’s made that piece of junk Honda look okay the year after chase left Honda. And Chase made his Orange Pig look like the best bike in supercross at about every round this year.

I’m left wondering what exactly Chase is searching for.

You have to think KTM has thrown huge money at Chase to get him to stay. He has that "Orange Pig" set up and making him look good. I still can't imagine Chase even considering having to start the setup game all over again with a "Green Pig".

Taking the Chad Reed approach, ride every manufacturer, and when you’ve hated every one, start again at the top.

Yeah, it's a little bit of a head scratcher to me.  I feel like it's gonna be like a redshirt year for him where he has to learn the bike all over again and figure out all of his starting settings from scratch.  He had things pretty well set up and was the #1 guy on his team.  I would imagine KTM made him a decent offer to stay, but maybe I'm wrong.  And what if next year is not about Sexton at Kawi, what if it's more about Prado and he ends up being the number one guy.  He could literally move himself from #1 on one team to #2 on another.

Your second sentence to me is a problem with this generation of pro.  Yes, I understand how important setup is.... but every one of these teams has a base that should be ok to start, and them improved upon.  We aren't re inventing the wheel here.

MC had two weeks, and managed to win races.  RC, James, Dungey, Lusk, Reed,  none of those top guys had a learning season after switching.

I don’t know anything. And I could be very wrong, but it really seems to me that KTM has been going out of their way to make Chase comfortable, not only on the bike, but in the press.  And all that effort seems to get them very little good will in return.

HRC did the same... Even offered him a bike for MXON to race when he was under contract with KTM.

If KTM AND Honda can’t make a bike that suits him, I have to think Chase is the problem. How much does he think he should be winning?
Meanwhile, Prado comes from a GasGas (KTM) that was supposedly a rocket and doesn’t think the Kawi engine is fast enough. Eli left Kawi, in part, because they wouldn’t allow him enough flexibility in setup. On tje surface this appears to be a bad decision on Chase’s part.

Listening to a few of the podcasts this morning and it seems the Kawi engine/power issue is not a new one.

Probably way off, but I thought he hit his head in the crash, and some guys seem to down play concussions, hence the vague “banged up” post.

Also, when they showed him pull in the pits after the crash it looked like he made a quick hand signal to his head. idk, maybe he’s just over KTM.

You guys maybe think Chase isn't the bad guy that youre insinuating he is? If there's record of multiple teams going out of their way for him?

Yep, I agree with all of that and I also remember Prado doing an interview during SX that he liked the Kawi much better than the Gas Gas.

Don't get me wrong though I really like Prado.

Who would have thought that a 2010 RMZ can still be competitive? Kenny not complaining about his power.
Ando not complaining about the KX power either.
AP  not complaining about his ride either

Im sure the gas gas has more peak hp than kx but both motors can be tuned via mapping.
Privateers occasionally getting a hole shot on less than platinum motor packages too.
But in all fairness, Im just a fan and besides my age, there is a reason why I never had my pro license.
