This is a mid-year split from SevenMX?  Both Seven & FXR look great.

He's looking at a new two year racing deal.

It was for sure tight fitting but it was extremely comfortable. I bought a few sets one year to wear but the pants just fell apart. Like after a single moto. I had to sew them up a few times that summer.

I see a couple guys wearing it here and there, but not as much as I used to.

Ive never seen Seven gear for sale on the rack at a dirt bike shop around here, and their HQ is here in my town...

There is quite the selection at Temecula motorsports. At least there was last time I was there a couple of weeks ago. Not as much as the Alpinestars gear, but there is a rack or two.

Losing your marquee racer, mid-year is certainly not a good look

I bought the first drop in late 2013 when it was made in collaboration with TLD, that stuff was sick

Looking good. Shoei helmets and Sidi boots. Just as it should be (or gaerne).  Highest quality head to toe setup in the pits right there.

Yeah I imagine that FXR was able to pay much more than Seven, I would say Seven sells a fraction of the gear that FXR does. I dont really see anyone wear Seven gear and I see a ton of guys wearing FXR.

Tons of people wearing FXR in the Northeast. Probably the most popular gear

Yeah I know it’s big up north and here in NC/SC it’s probably most popular too.

For sure - tons of NJ guys in FXR. I really like their grassroots marketing strategy of sponsoring the local fast guys and gradually working their way to factory teams. The quality of gear seems super good. I just wish they had plainer options where the logo wasn’t the main design (I’m a boring guy).

Again, that’s just a guess.

I'll bet you are spot on. Malcom is maybe more popular than ever, and he should make hay while the sun is shining Smile

I have their snowmobile gear, and it is top shelf stuff!

The black/gold kit looks good with the Rockstar Husky...but it would look good with a black Triumph too.

Am I the only person on here who doesn't give a rat's behind what gear riders wear?

I would not be shocked if seven closes their doors soon, they haven’t had any hype in the last 5 years or so, and I see their gear in the bargain bin sections, when in the past, that wasnt the case

I have to admit, I almost always forget about Seven gear when thinking about gear companies. When I see their stuff it looks good, but then I forget that they exist a few minutes later. They just don’t seem to have a ‘hook’ like most of the top selling gear brands.

I'm more of a fan of the underwear sponsors.

FXR is a good fit for Malcolm and a smart move since he's also a fisherman. We were watching a tournament a couple years ago and saw a couple guys competing wearing their gear, so I looked it up and didnt realize they also were involved in fishing.  Pretty cool. Put me in the camp of "I'll buy anything related to moto" and I bet Malcolms line will look awesome.

Might have already been covered, but how involved is James with Seven these days?

Yeah, it's like keeping up with the kardashians or some shit. Their riding gear doesn't contribute anything to their speed. I'll bet there isn't 2 pages on stick and ball sports message boards about what cleats or gloves the players are wearing.

People talk about their teams uniforms A LOT.

I see it less of caring about what brand a rider is in and more about seeing where the companies are at and how things are moving around in the sport. Malcolm’s stock is rising as he’s now a 450 race winner and I think he would be foolish to not collect the paychecks while he still can, especially towards the end of his career. FXR is growing like crazy in moto now and Seven is still a small company. Ot would be like if Tomac came out next year and said he took a Moose Racing gear deal. Not that I care about what gear he wears but that would be a pretty big move for Moose.

4-5 guys are at the point of one or two year deals, then retirement or ride a non factory bike.  May as well make money while you can.

There's a bunch of 250 guys moving up in the next three seasons.

Plus, modern riders all have such amazing style, technique, and all ride will such flair, they could be wearing hefty garbage bags and look amazing
