This is setting up to be a massive disappointment.

A neutered, heavy, emission compliant DS/enduro bike is my prediction.

I can't see it being a 2T DS. IMO most DS buys are weighted to more street than trail and dealing with premix on the street is a pain. I guess they could inject. But that would add weight and complexity for the woods.

KTM's XC-W line is all oil-injected and its great for the woods guys because they can ride all day and not have to worry about mixing gas, just stop at the gas station and refill.

If its a woods/trail bike and sells like hotcakes it may open the door for a 2T MXer in the future. Doubt they'd bring back 2T and only do it for one model.

Sounds like there are 3 bikes on the wish list.  Some more likely than others…

KX125 would be awesome racing in EMX and local Schoolboy classes.  Add some diversity from the orange and blue.

KDX220 modernized would be beautiful!  This is what I would like to see.  Built with the good stuff.

A 300 pure woods bike?  Seems like the top choice so far from the Vital faithful.

Will one of those 3 be real???  We can only hope.  Because a watered down DS blah blah blah would be a huge disappointment.

Could this have better timing with KTM’s current struggles.

i'll let anyone ride my TMR Built 2006 KX250 for 5 laps and tell me they want one over a four stroke, i love that thing because it's a beast and a blast to ride but, my KTM 350 is better by far in every imaginable way! Most people that ride it come back in two laps and say “how did we ride these things back in the day!” 😂

Even if that is the case it’s a step in the right direction I suppose

Hard to believe they’d be able to keep something like this secret without industry insiders hearing about it.   That makes me think it’s not going to be MX/XC related.

I haven’t ridden a Kawasaki since the mid 90’s and this is the first I’m hearing about it!

Could it be the Yamasaki from the commercial last year?

I’d be most hyped on a 200cc competition Offroad bike. It was sad to see ktm stop producing that motor.

They could've atleast cleaned that thing out for the revs at the end. That sounded like my cousins yz250 whos been riding for 4 months that just went up a black trail where he stalled 42 times, never got above 1/4 throttle, just got done taking a 30 minute break so he doesnt die of exhaustion, and had to choke it cause its 31 degrees out.

It’s a 3something direct injection 2 stroke.

I’m putting my vote in that it will be a joint deal with Yamaha similar to Fantic.

Why? Fantic had none of their own R&D, which is why they partnered with Yamaha. Kawasaki has plenty of their own R&D. Redesign their existing designs to incorporate a counter balancer on the 250, electric start, and modern suspension and start selling!

Still sounded better than any 4 stroke

Kawasaki thinks so and advertises capabilities for it. People here are forgetting Yamaha never stopped making the YZ250 2 stroke and the YZ250X GNC inspired bike is gonna be the competition for anybody else. I'm not familiar with the full Austrian list of models but believe there's a couple 2T KTM offers as more enduro than SX targeted? could be wrong about that...

No where near conparable to a yz250x, or any of ktm’s Offroad models. 2 stroke or 4.

I think RDnutz is confusing the KLX300 with the KLX300R. The 300R is a pure trail bike, not a dual sport. Not that it’s in a comparable class to Euro 300 smoker, but it comes closer to fitting the bill of a KDX200 than anything else in the Kawasaki lineup.
