No. I don't think there was ever an official plan to make a return at Nashville, just wishful thinking. I'm sure internally they wanted to but there was no announcement saying they would. Cooksey made a video saying Forkner was returning at Foxborough. About a week later, Forkner had an interview with Swap and was asked if he would be making a return and he said he would like to race SX before the year is over if it's possible but he isn't going to rush his comeback to racing until he is 100% healthy physically and mentally ready to race again but that may not happen in time. Then he got LASIK in the beginning of April.
Per swap he was going to make a return and then something happened. They didn't elaborate on what the something was.
Cooksey's #1 source is his toaster smh
"OK so how much does McElrath and his category make ?? I think you very much under estimate how much most of these guys make. Nic Wey who never won a SX/national and was a privateer for several years at the end of his career was still making over a million a year(from Nic Wey interview)"
Nic Wey did win an outdoor National. He got the overall at Millville in the 125 class, I believe it was around 1999/2000.
The Shop
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
If you don’t want to know, I’ll keep it to myself!🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
RC has said that when RR was on his game, he (RC) had nothing for him (RR).
There's other things in life, besides Pro racing...
Indeed.
But they're a lot more expensive... and more dangerous!
and they get upset when you update them with a newer model.
"Upset" is putting it mildly.
Something like, "Hell hath no fury..."
I seem to forget the rest.
But we do want to know!
Add Vohland to that current list as well. Alot of talented guys right there.
I’m not sure what got you the downvotes, the part about Forkner doing nothing in his career or Hampshire finally beating guys that were on 65’s when he turned Pro?
It doesn’t matter what he does. He won’t be a factor.
Any word on Max?
The Jett one is frustrating. That was no fault of his and get glossed over. You're way off on thinking he has the pace outdoors though. He's much better at sx. His last podium outdoors was 2018, I believe. I'd love to see him do well outdoors and get his feet under him
I've heard he hasn't been able to get back on the bike and there's been complications from his hip injury. I'm not sure we'll see him at all in outdoors...
hopefully he wasn't misdiagnosed initially a la Bo Jackson.
Pit Row
ive said this a few times, hes never really been able to get a solid base on MX as hes either coming off a injury or gets hurt.
Last year towards the end of the year he was cracking into the top 5.
Wonder how long those things stick around if the factory racer $$$,$$$ stops coming in
Show some class dude. What’s your deal?
So is it Forkners back/shoulder the reason he wont be at the first round or his Lasik? My wife had Lasik and it didnt go so swell.
What about Jeremy Martin? Did I hear he isnt racing outdoors? Hes gonna do some bicycle racing? Or did I miss hear that?
Well RJ isn’t 30… semantics I suppose
Not that I am aware of, but I dont know them or anyone close to them. So no, nothing. Sorry!
and nick was incredibly likable, professional and a sponsors dream of a rider to have. very good at self promotion, fan friendly and his reputation alone had sponsors lining up for him at whatever he wanted to do. he took care of his relationships and never burnt bridges for 20 years
Matthew said he is having complications from his hip injury. Hasn’t been on n the bike. Unlikely to be seen outdoors.
I don’t blame guys for staying on 250s as long as possible. They probably make more than they will if they are a marginal 450 rider. A couple of 250 titles and a guy who is smart with his money can be set.
And how many of todays riders can say this??
After seeing the injuries this dude has endured, I”m pulling for him to have a safe and competitive outdoor series…..
That's terrible! It seemed like he vibed well with his PC bike. Someone else mentioned Bo Jackson. His hip injury ended his football carrier. Greatest all around athlete of all time, imo. I'm praying Max will be ok
