Didn't hit the ground and starts were good enough. Gotta be happy with that.

Welcome back Chase! Looking good all day, no crashes, 2nd place. Good to see.

I watched him close at the end of the race. Once Webb started showing him a wheel after catching him from way back in the pack something changed. Tomac really turned it up on the last 2 laps and was the fastest guy on the track. Should not have got passed by Justin Cooper earlier but almost caught him back at the end. Expect him to be disgusted with this result and motivated.

I wondered if there was some kind of issue when I noticed that he wasn’t at press day yesterday while Prado was.

GT Arenacross, AMA Arenacross and Partzilla Arenacross have decent size pro classeses. I'm sure that doesn't help.

Maybe the injury is real, but given his track record, I'm not inclined to believe him. I'd bet him and the team end up going separate ways, and then he'll show up at a random outdoor national with stock graphics, absolutely kill it, and everyone will be asking why he doesn't have a ride. It's rinse and repeat with Masterpool, and the sport has the collective memory of a goldfish.

I believe this is a GuyB pic, but he definitely caught this same moment, and in was in a motor drive burst sequence where you could see the immediate prior and after images. It showed that in some of these very cool shots it's actually just before things go wrong. Here KW's bike stood up it drove into the berm so hard and almost high sided. My first race in 1972, my dad took some photos and caught this crash of a guy on a new Yamaha DT1 Enduro. Pretty good shot for back in the day.
