This is no BS. One of my buddies had a 2013 RMZ450 with over 450 hours on it when he sold it. Bought it brand new. Motor was never open up and valves were never checked. Bike always ran great. He's no slow rider either.

My 2006 YZ250 still works. Same bottom end. I don't know how many hours are on it, but there have been at least 5 top ends in it. (I don't ride a whole lot, but I raced this bike many times.)

Yes they handled it really well. Took a bit longer because some parts where on back order for a while, but end off the day they took care and haven’t had a problems since.

An Def not a 2 stroke even tho a lot of ppl go on about them. Your way more likely to have to separate a 2 stroke case then a 4 stroke. It's just if u need to it's cheaper on the 2 stroke.
That's odd. Why is the market for used 4 strokes so small? You should compare prices of a 2005 YZ 250 vs a 2005 YZF 450 then ask yourself why the two are so far apart on price.

Yea easy just never ride it, will last a long time then. your only maintenance will be how often do you clean and polish the plastic.

KTM puts the best components in their bikes.Their cranks are a special design which allows you to (especially vet riders) to put hundreds of hours on them, and their pistons are typically much better quality as well. I think the clutch baskets are billet and seem to not wear out plates as quick. I'm a 30+ A rider and have the stock plates at 55 hours.

know several guys here in TX who have 200+ hours on a stock bike without even touching the motor.

Husaberg 70 degree bikes are about as bulletproof as they come, not really a MX bike though.

Just freshened up my FX450 with some new plastics which are getting harder to find. Ride woods and dual sport and have done a couple Rally races with it, she does it all!

I’m also a Vet A rider (215 lbs) and I just changed the clutch on my ‘21 KX 450 at 60 hours. Stock one was just fine but I like to get ahead of things. Did a piston at 50 hours. Looked flawless. Haven’t had to touch a valve. I think all the 450s are pretty solid these days. Don’t hear of too many engine malfunctions on mostly stock bikes.

The ktm clutch baskets are steel so nearly indestructible.

I too had a 2013 RMZ450 and that thing was just as rock solid as it got. I always chuckled when I checked the valves. I did a top end at 100 hours and looked damn near perfect. Do just the most basic oil changes and air filter cleanings, and the average Joe weekend rider could get 300 hours before even needing a new top end, seriously. Change the oil and clean the AF and those things literally are bullet proof. Amazingly reliable bikes.

Cr125 a member on here has 415 hrs on his still going strong. Most bullet proof bike made next would be the cr250.
