I was thinking about signing up for Flo but after reading some of those BBB reports..... no way I'm getting close to that. I'll watch whatever highlights I can find after the fact. I’ll be at Red Bud tomorrow. One of my annual traditions while there is to renew my Racer X subscription. Won’t be doing that this year. I’m not going to reward them with my money for creating this debacle.

year over year, DC has been a pretty consistent presence on Vital. Each week he'd pop in and respond to a few posts to tamp down whatever issue had occurred the week before.

I commented a few weeks back that he was strangely absent on the forum even when he had a dumpster fire on his hands w/ the TV coverage.

That dumpster fire has now spread even larger and he's still absent. I don't get it. He KNOWS he's getting slaughtered on Vital (his core demographic) and I find it so odd that he's not showing up here or at LEAST putting out some PR to take responsibility for some of this and provide some confidence.

ESPECIALLY while he has to be biting his nails w/ WSX firing up and making a play to pillage his series next year.

What a weird year.

I bought the MXGP pass last week because I was bored, looks like it was good timing. I’m totally over jumping through these hoops to watch the nationals.

DC’s silence from the beginning of this dumpster fire speaks volumes.

To honestly assess the situation he would have to throw MAVTV (Lucas Oil) under the bus. He's not going to do that. If he could speak candidly he would probably say the MAVTV streaming platform wasn't cutting it and instead of continuing to wrestle with it the remainder of the summer we elected to partner with FloRacing to provide the same coverage at the same price on a far more robust, consistent and reliable streaming platform.

perhaps.

I guess my point still stands. Even when things aren't his fault, he pops in here and says "Yeah, that was not ideal and we remedied the situation" (with whatever situation occurred) but this year.............crickets. Hell, put a spin on it and release PR that says "You guys asked, and we delivered! Check out FLORACING because it's going to be amazing the rest of the year!!!!!!!!" or some such.

Looks like after July 26 MAVTV app will cease to function for Moto. That means I need to :

1. Cancel MAVTV. (Not clear how to do this since the app does not provide that capability and the website refers back to the app.

2. Sign up for a year long flo TV service, but never heard of it and not sure how, where or what platforms it supports.


I may be out folks. This is mid season bullsh;t. Sure enjoyed watching Dungey come up to speed in the first few though.

Obviously doesn't care. Not one apology in his press release about flosports either. I'm honestly shocked, I'm having a hard time believing this has all gone down but it's right in our faces. It's almost like the rider that signs one last contract that he knows he's just " collecting a pay check" before he retires. He's honestly the last person I would ever expect something like this from... This whole thing is baffling, but the quietness from himself and other journalists ( I'm sure he's the last person any of them woud want to say something negative about ) actually speaks louder than words.

No, we are not, it's set to change effective now. BUT, MAV will supposedly operate until July 26th. So Will have to switch to Flo or find pirated versions for the last few rounds of outdoors.

I looked around on the Flo App last night, certainly didn't look like HD to me. I hope they put replays up as well. I am busy on Saturdays and like to watch it at night.

i'm going with "DC has been on fire behind the scenes trying to put out some major league fires this year and hasn't had time to post to Vital" as my preferred excuse. The guy's entire career is tied to moto/nats so I can't see him "just collecting a check". I mean, history doesn't show us anything like that from him.

that said, something is up. he forever has posted here to address things week over week...and then he's got an absolute cluster on his hands of epic proportions that might negatively effect his empire moving forward (not to mention he has WSX coming to pillage his riders) and he ghosts the forum?

Weird as hell for sure.

I’m not sure how much influence DC has on the sale/merge with Floracing since it is more than just our niche MX series affected by the change. Wonder what the other sports forums think of the change. I would guess he is just along for the ride this year and there is no way to revisit the arrangement or go back to Peacock even if he wanted to.
In the short term, if this is just a nuisance and it is cost neutral for this year AND the app delivery is improved I’ll bite my tongue and call that a win.
Next year pricing is next year; things could change so I’ll stop worrying about something that hasn’t happened yet and I can’t change.

I am as bummed as everyone, but I guess one thing we have to consider is that even SX with even higher viewership numbers doesn't really make money off the broadcast from what I understand. Really only core riders/fans watch the outdoors. Hell, I am a die hard live/eat/breathe moto and I find it hard to sit for 4 hours to watch a race. That is why I hated MAV and how long it took to put up replays as I FFWD to gate drop and watch to checkers, skip interviews, etc.
