I doubt they switched. The sound penalty is so stupid. They test post race in a completely different environment than pre race. If they are hell bent on penalizing for sound they should fine the team. The rider has nothing to do with how loud the exhaust they are given to race with.

If you're riding w/ purpose, it's a transfer of focus. Trying to go fast in motocross requires 100% attention. Without a clutch, my focus becomes picking up the throttle as smooth as I can to use all of the torque I have. I'm also on the rear hand brake since day 1. This is 100% a new challenge! Once your left hand builds/develops the feel for that rear brake, it becomes painfully obvious how much of an advantage the hand brake is. We absolutely adore our Stark (it’s my sons really) - he waited two years for it, now had it a couple years. No issues. No nuts ‘n bolts come loose. No air filter changing (!!!!!). No splashing gas about. Yeah, he really, really wants to race it…..Everyone we let try it -gets a big ass smile on their face, which is soooo cool. Nailing the 80 horses across a grass field is top-shelf thrilling….. 3 out of 4 guys that I know in town that bought one sold it within a year. It was not what they thought it would be and the battery time was a let down. Especially during winter conditions. Another friend of mine from another town bought one, a couple of weeks ago we was going for a ride and had to ride a couple of kilometers on a road before getting on some trails. I would say about 4 kilometers distance and he rode at 50 km/h on the road and lost 15% of battery on that short distance/time...

I don't think that is anything new, or even exclusive to Loretta's. I don't know much about the rules for classes or even about the details of the qualification process, but I would assume if they could filter the classes better, MX Sports would. I think it falls on the integrity of the rider.
