Exactly. Again, him and Kenny are my favorites but it is so obvious when you go from being the fastest man on a 450 for 9 rounds to losing by 30 seconds to some guys who would almost never beat you. There's a problem outside of the bike. Just be logical for a minute. How could it be the bike? He LOVED that bike and was on cloud 9 for what 9 rounds or so? Riders cover up injuries and illnesses in the sport, I get it.. RC started it because he said Chad was such a mental competitor that he couldn’t give him any edge coming to the gate.. makes sense to me. Eli is a few weeks in to riding around in 6th place but stays with the “I’m fine, just a little off” narrative. What does he have to gain from this, I understand not wanting to give the competition edge, but at this point, they are probably not even worrying about Eli as soon as they see him in the heat...

and just like that, Eli got 'old' between practice in Birmingham and the main event. Suppose going to the LCQ can do that to someone. But do you get young and remember how to ride again by next week??? He looked worse this week than last week actually...Webb took him and JCoop was gone.

Hes in this thing now. He was out, then he was down by 13 now hes only 5 points down and you can feel the momentum has shifted. Eli is hurt and hunter has been making mistakes since his big crash, he seems a little rattled. Kenny is riding better than ever and is hitting his stride right at the perfect spot in the schedule. He could really win this thing! This is the best chance hes ever gonna have and he knows it, he has to take it.

Some people don't understand that guys like RV, RD, RC retired because they were mentally burned out, not physically. We heard that multiple times from them in interviews. And yet someone has to bring up the age thing again, like Eli didn't look like the complete package in the first half of the season. 😅

Everyone else is testing, making changes, “not comfortable,” meanwhile Kenny is on the oldest bike (by far), seemingly making no changes, and crushing everyone on the toughest tracks. Still want Eli to win it, but the whole “nothing is wrong” schtick is wearing thin. Go kenny!

I know these guys never like to admit they're hurt due to not wanting to give the competition a mental edge. But I feel like him getting his ass kicked while be "fine" is way worse than him getting his ass kicked while battling a broken whatever. If he just fesses up, he can be like "ya, I got 6th, but once my X heals up, its on."

I watched that start again at Birmingham and he definitely hit that tuff block hard with his foot. No way we can tell if it hurt him, though. I do know when I hit my 'bad knee' or 'bad foot', it does hurt and gets in your head some. It can slow you down for a while. Looks like a possibility for sure. Kenny could not beat Eli before this moment, as far as I remember. And now, all of a sudden, Eli can't keep up with him. And I don't think Tomac had been this far off in qualifying...

He better not bring this speed to the outdoors as it could be a stain on his outdoor legacy!! If he’s getting beat by 15 to 30 seconds right now outdoors could get ugly!!

It's wild that he doesn't say something about it. "Nothing is wrong, just an off night"....then he doubles the rhythm sections 4 laps in a row. It's really frustrating as an Eli fan.
