I was thinking this was going to be about some cameras down by the track. I thought one coming and going by the ski jump would have been cool. Seemed too many were high and far. Mule cam always rocks.

Leigh Diffey and Daniel Blair would be a better solution. I want to see RC do well, and he has, but it’s only when he’s speaking from the hip that it works imo. Leigh and Will give us some much needed “international” flare, which is needed for a sport people malign with monster trucks.

It's always so easy from the sidelines.


I don't know this for a fact but I would imagine that a lot of it boils down to who and what they have to pay. If they are paying Leigh Diffey no matter what it would be silly to have him sit home and get paid just to please some hardcore motoheads that are going to watch no matter who calls the action.

1. I prefer usa accent reporters for Supercross. . Just my opinion.
2. The 250 class is not equal to the 450 class. Stop portraying like it is.

Agreed. To me Ricky is better with Blair because of Blairs ability to set up a legit interesting question/take. Leigh, while pretty dang good and I do happen to enjoy the international quality, just doesn't have the same insight that Blair does. Daniel has been great (especially for his level of experience) at still being a play by play guy but with some Color commentator like perks in which Ricky plays nicely off of.

Since there is no way David Bailey will be back, Emig has been jettisoned & Langston is on the wrong side politically, we would all be better off with no announcers. The over excitement of whoever is in the booth this year is beyond ridiculous and poorly executed. At this point, I just want to watch the races and am fine with just hearing the bikes and crowd cheer. I am in the group that DVR's starts watching 45 min in and fast forward all the ads, fluff and analysis. Funny back in the day there would be random complaints about Larry Maiers, Art Eckman, Dave DeSpain and even Bob Varsha. Most of us would welcome any of those guys back.

The best thing about Ricky and Daniel together is that you have Ricky on the Championship and race winner side of things and you have Daniel on the professional well spoken side but also with a ton of race experience. They way they can talk about and explain things together makes everything so much better.

Nothing against Leigh as he is professional and good at what he does. I just prefer having two ex racers explaining and talking about everything

As far as color and analysis, RC is probably the worst commentator we've ever been graced with.

-Studders more than Emig (who had to work his ass off to overcome speech issues)
-Repeats the same non-flattering meme worthy lines every week (wood to chop, long legs, learning lesson, etc...)
-Constantly loses his train of thought, often to the point of stopping mid-way through whatever point he was trying to make... *Queue awkward silence*
-Any analysis he does provide has ZERO depth. RC will constantly tell you a section is difficult, but never why, or what the rider needs to do to successfully navigate it. Also things like "that line he took"... Again never specific, never descriptive of anything.

Go watch 90s into early 00s races with Bailey... It's a staggering difference in quality analysis. Put Blair in that spot and move on. Only reason RC does somewhat better with Blair is because Blair carries him from the "play by play" position. Blair is sharp and saves RC when he starts losing it.

It blows my mind how many grown men cry about who is in the booth calling the races. Lol I despise Chris Collinsworth being in the booth calling NFL games. But do I whine about it? Do you think if I send an email they are gonna give 2 shits? I've followed the sport long enough.enough that I don't need anyone's input. I'm just happy to watch the races live.
