I quit the dealers decades ago and am not going to defend what they charge, but that kid could have torqued them exactly to spec using a gold-plated torque wrench. The problem originated in Japan.

If the manufacturer is offering a recall on a part. You can be sure that said part (or task) is not specifically outlined on the dealer checklist. So you would be incorrect in your assumption. A dealer tech is not going to catch bad metallurgy...

Our family owns the earliest known Rokon factory Cobra. It sat in boxes for 40+ years before brother fully restored and raced in some AHRMA races before he passed. It's on display at the Hill Country Motorheads Motorcycle Museum in Burnett, Tx. If you ever get the chance stop in there and check out the collection of bikes. Some incredible bikes in there, lot of the real deal...it's worth the time if you're ever in the area.

This past 9 months I was getting out of doing construction and painting, was pretty far into the process of being a highway patrol, and at the last second I realized that isn’t me, so I’m back swinging hammers and painting in the evenings, this one felt good to do and am stoked on the result.
