RednBlue Started a new thread Keeping the Moto Vibe going...
2/8/2026 5:16pm Like much of the country, weather here in the great midwest has been a bit "cool" this year. I can usually ride most of the winter but haven't been on the bike since around Christmas. Heading to work last week, it's still dark out and the thermometer says it a brisk 5 degrees. At the stoplight up rolls a long-bed...

1/17/2026 11:01am If outside is a no go, Ray's is a great place to ride. I haven't been for several years, but a friend went twice in the last few months and loved it. I think they still offer rental bikes if you don't want to transport your own.

1/14/2026 6:56am Here are a few that might qualify.... When on errands you think let's stop by the shop/bookstore/get ice cream and then ask how long it will take? (And often just head for home) When the 30 (40,50) year old guy at work is the "new kid" When New Year's midnight fireworks/gun shots turn into "I wish they'd knock it off...

1/12/2026 6:14pm He grew up in my home town area. I met his mom years ago at a yard sale she was having and bought some furniture from her. Don't remember how we got on the topic of her son. He had been dead for several years and she talked openly about his life and hers. She'd been a nanny for some...

1/11/2026 5:49pm Don't know how long you'll be in town, but The Original Pancake House is about 15-20 minutes out of downtown and the food there has been great when we go. The Baby German Baby Pancake is amazing - looks like it will put you in a coma, but it's light and fluffy I think the ommelettes use 4 (!) eggs...

1/7/2026 5:28pm Yes. I had seen your location when checking out the pics you've posted. Not many "mid-westerners" on here. Used to be guys from Linton and Indy that posted regularly.

RednBlue Started a new thread First ride 2026
1/5/2026 3:10pm Sunny and 50 in Indiana after a month of snow/rain/bitter cold. Took a short ride so the bike would stop giving me the evil eye every time I walked past it in the garage. Ground hard with a thin layer of very slick mud on top. I turn 67 in a few weeks so I kept it low key to...

Got in first ride of '26 on some of our trails on a sunny 50 degree day today. Weather has been all over the map here in Indiana, so we haven't been able to get out. Ground is hard with a thin layer of very slick "frosting" (mud) on top of it. We kept things low key but I slid...
Congrats on the new ride! E biking is soooo much fun. Gotta be great ridin' with the pup. Our 2 have been gone for years but I still remember them running along side me on the moto, mtb and tractor on our hobby farm. Sleeping outside my bedroom window and waking me up barking at deer and coyotes during the...
RednBlue Added a reply to Civil Servant pay - (I’m pretty sure this isn’t just a Portland thing)
12/24/2025 11:17am Not sure what's going on there. In the past, 2080 was considered the standard number of hours employees worked in a year. Not sure if that's still true, but using that number Eric Pederson was making about $67 an hour. Don't know if the $140K number reflects benefits also or just "pay". Saw an article several years ago that civil...

12/2/2025 4:30pm I turn 67 in January, been riding off and on since about age 10, mostly trail riding but also rode and competed in trials for several years.. In addition, MTB trail riding 30+ years and bike trials competition for about 10. Some years I didn't ride much as I got older but last several have made the effort to get...

11/17/2025 7:38pm A few that I really like..... Thor ad where McGrath asks to drive the semi and stalls it and they throw him out. Reed Discount tire -there are a couple of versions - my favorite is with the kids doing part of the voice over. Best part is the end: "It's not where you're riding, it's who you're riding with"...

4/12/2025 6:19pm Buddy of my brother worked in a dental lab in town that made dentures, etc back in the day. Very handy with grinding tools and was known to go in after hours and do cylinder work for low $. Story was that his manager was aware but the guy was pretty good at his day job so they just turned...

4/11/2025 5:15pm Congratulations! Wife and I picked up a couple of Moro 5's on New Year's Eve. Haven't gotten to ride them much but most fun on wheels I've ever had so far (been riding bikes and motos since the 70's). Things are drying up around here and will be hitting our 4 mile trail system on the farm soon. Really looking...
