I've been down it 3 times now, it's definitely got some "Don't think, just go" sections 😛😆 The dirts still tacky in that canyon so it's as easy as it gets right now. My downfall so far has been not carrying enough speed into the uphill turns and stalling out, only stopped once last time so I figured might as well take a couple pictures since I'm sitting there stopped like a dweeb anyway. 🥴 I'll get it next time. ✊
Starting my mtb career banged up at 64 years old probably wasn't ideal. I'm s l o w l y getting more confident. When I started I had no idea how gnarly some of the trails were. The guys that can fly down those trails like it's nothing have my full respect.
Beauty of mtbing is, as long as you can pedal - you can ride.
I haven’t gone to the darkside yet but riding my Dad’s Rail is generally a good time! For now I’ll just ride my Top Fuel
There are lots of trails near you that are not just difficult but could actually kill you! We are lucky to live in such a fun area to ride!

Congrats on the new ride! E biking is soooo much fun. Gotta be great ridin' with the pup. Our 2 have been gone for years but I still remember them running along side me on the moto, mtb and tractor on our hobby farm. Sleeping outside my bedroom window and waking me up barking at deer and coyotes during the night. Man's best friend indeed.
I can’t take her to public spots cuz she would huck something too big or take someone out! But it’s a good time shredding with her in the local/private trails. We do everything together lol. E biking is right up there with moto when I comes to fun. Rode a few different kinds and I’d recommend the kenevo sl 2 over any of the others I tried
Got in first ride of '26 on some of our trails on a sunny 50 degree day today. Weather has been all over the map here in Indiana, so we haven't been able to get out. Ground is hard with a thin layer of very slick "frosting" (mud) on top of it. We kept things low key but I slid out in a low speed 180 turn and confirmed the ground is still very hard. Saw chiropractor this morning, took a dirt sample this afternoon....
A guy I know built (is building) that trail... the one and only Fuz E Nutz. We follow each other on Strava if you want to reach out, Bill. He'd probably be happy to hear that you like the work.
I’ll check it out and follow him. Went down it right before the last rain started, would’ve made it without stopping this time but the guy in front of me stopped right before a technical right turn, straight down, damn near full lock turn with ruts and “exposure” lol. As you know once you stop you’re fucked.
The ridge and drop off at the end are intimidating but as long as I look ahead and try not to think about it too much, it’s no problem. The sketchy part is only 30-40 feet long, but you really don’t wanna fuck up n that section, it’ll hurt 😛
Hey heads up ! I’ve been seeing a lot of rattlers the last few weeks. They’re out in full force. Watch out you guys a guy got bit in Irvine and didn’t make it 🙁.

Dang, that's awful news and very sad for Family and Friends...
Kind of a coincidence that I was out riding my dirtbike today, on some endless single track in the desert with foliage. and thought about rattlers coming out to enjoy the sun.
One of the coolest experiences I've had out here, I was riding some single track, going up a slight uphill and this bush was RUSTLING right next to the trail.
Next thing I know a Hawk flies out with a snake in its beak! 😲 I do not believe it was a Rattler but it was so awesome to see Nature in the desert.

Wow, you don’t normally hear about anybody getting bit by a rattlesnake while mtbing. And I’ve definitely never heard of anybody dying. Terrible news. You do see lots in southern CA this time of year it amazes me there are not more issues. Snakes really don’t want to bite unless you touch them.
