Vince basically said: “I couldn’t have checked up in that section otherwise I would have had to of rolled the triple”

Yet went on to say:

“I didn’t do anything wrong, Barcia should have checked up”

So He expects a lead rider to check up and roll a triple because he refuses to get out of the race line that goes from left to right. Dude’s fucken delusional.
You're delusional. Barcia rode into Vince's rear. Entirely #51's fault. Barcia should have rolled off, Eli would have.
DK23 wrote:
So it was Kenny's fault he ran into Deano's rear tire then? Glad we cleared that up. I think Deano should get an apology.
Yes, 100% Ken's fault.

He shouldn't be following a lapper's wheel tracks no matter how many flags were waving.

Webb got Kenny a beauty by putting him under major pressure.

He did the same to Barcia last Saturday and the #51 ran off the track. Remember that?

Barcia failed the same way as Ken: Eli was pressuring him and he panicked and jumped instead of checking.

Just a shame he ruined Tomac's race; a good save by Vince even though it knocked him way off line.

Lappers are not nearly as much of an issue outdoors. More space and longer lap times make it mostly a non issue. With sub 60 second lap times. and very tight tracks indoors, maybe supercross needs a rule change. Instead of blue flags for lappers, they should get a blue checkered flag to signal - your race is over, pull off the track immediately. The rider can be credited with whatever position he holds at that time.

Just saw the replay. That Friese should be banned. He's always fucking up other riders race.

Downvote my post all you want, say it wasn't Vince's fault because he was in the racing line, but don't forget he also jacked up Roczen a bit. Go back and watch like 8 years of racing and see how many times he fucks a front runner while being lapped. Anyone here who is going to defend Friese for his etiquette when being lapped probably can't spell the word etiquette.
OK so I just got through the section of the Pulp Show with Vince. I'll stand by my statement about him, that his historical body of work while being lapped is not stellar. However, in this case after listening to his version and re-watching all available footage many times, I can also see where he's coming from.

72 hours later I'm much more inclined to call this a racing incident. And I think if it was Enticknap or Chisholm involved and not Friese, my initial reaction is much more like "Oh man, that was unfortunate" and not "This asshat ruins every race!" Fuckin' COVID rage, it's real.

As I posted in the Barcia injured thread.

Its a “legendary” ride when somone gets a bad start and blazes through the pack using any and every line, but when a lapper doesn’t “move” out of the way, all of a sudden the passing or lack thereof becomes the lappers fault.

Vinces body of work is not stellar.

The rider who ran into him had already hit Cianciarulo, plausibly deniably rammed St Ken, ran off the track under pressure from Webb and you give him a 'racing incident' pass for Liberace-ing Vince and taking himself down and ruining Eli's race.

That is 1/4 of an SX field Barcia has interfered with in one race.

Yep. It’s going to be epic. If I were Friese, I’d find some way to break a collarbone or something easy in practice so I would be out a couple of weeks. I mean, it’s not like he’d lose points towards a championship...like Barcia or Tomac would! You know, what gets me the most...even with him cross jumping in front of Barcia, is the way he glances back to see the carnage behind him after he clears the next whoop. You think he was surprised? Like, “Oooops!”?

He was looking behind to see what happened after Barcia tried his kamikaze outside move and nearly took him out brother ;-)

Kamikaze? I guess I missed that part. But, I didn't see Friese bobble at all. I did see VF in what looked to me like he blatantly cross jump in front of Barcia so that Justin had nowhere to go, clipping Friese's back tire. And then Tomac crashing into the #51 GasGas for the same reason...nowhere else to go.
Barcia made a mistake. He took a shot where one didn’t exist. It collected Tomac.

The top riders need to change their strategy when they are coming up to lap Friese . Don’t wait for him to move over , just straight up clean him out first chance you get . Everyone of the leaders should be now employing this strategy .

Why are we still talking about how smart Webb is and how dumb KRoc is? The guy got a gift and it's the only time he has out ridden him this year.

Kenny blasted him at Indy 2 when he was trying to pull away from Barcia. Seemed effective.

Why does Steve Matthes have such an affection for Friese? Does he pity him, feel sorry somehow?

I'd rather be leading and soon to be passing a lapper than passing for the lead. Lappers are part of racing and the talk of black flagging lappers is hilarious. Consider the source I guess.

Yeah, it reinforces the point that he has been around a long time so Barcia knows his style well and has no excuses for ass jumping him.

100% agree with Bobby. Vince qualified for the race. He gets to ride. If he is in the way...ride around him like any other obstacle on the track. So what if he's in the "fast line". The guy behind you has to deal with him as well. I realise that every situation is unique but being a big dog doesn't mean you own the track and any line you choose. I don't feel one way or the other about Vince and I am a fan of Barcia but just shut up and ride.

That’s crap, lead riders shouldn’t be penalised for lapping slow riders. Simply get out of the fucken way and let the lead riders race each other.

I haven't read this whole thread, but maybe its time we allowed two way radio's/headsets for riders to hear from there mechanics when they are being lapped.

It was Bracia's fault he ran into Vince. Never said it wasn't. Its Vince's "Obligation" to get out of the racing line when you've been given the Blue flag numerous times. Again, if a rider is allowed to pick and choose when he moves over (after he KNEW the Blue flag was out and he was already lapped) then what relevance does the Blue flag really have?
You can't ignore the Black flag, why should you be able to ignore the Blue flag?

The race is a show and lappers are part of the show but they can often ruin the show. I believe 2 laps down you're out is a good approach. They'll get their checks anyway.

Your post is spot on. I'm a big fan of Justin but he probably should have checked up. That being said what is the point of the blue flags if certain guys ignore them? It seems to be getting worse but I will say these first six tracks made it pretty damn difficult for everyone involved. They have practically been arenacross tracks with an extra loop.

How does that help the problem? They still not off the track while they’re being lapped ? They need to be lapped according to your idea to end their race.

Not understanding how this is a good idea? Doesn’t make sense.

They don’t understand that when you RUN IN TO SOMEONE, it’s on YOU!
They think “Head-Shake” is a Cardi B song.
They wouldn’t know real racing even IF they were in one.

I listened to Friese's comments on Pulp and his take was he did nothing wrong. That may be the case in this instance, if you, like Matthes want's to look at everything in a vacuum.

The biggest problem with Vince is the same problem that Barcia has and that is they are already a know quantity. Vince is well know for getting in the way/being hard to pass. He has been fined, suspended, punched, t-boned, taken out, teed up and more and still refuses to change his habits. So when an incident like this happens, even if it isn't his fault he is going to get blamed because his rap sheet is very very long.

Exactly as Ive posted elsewhere- Lappers aren't lappers until they're lapped.

So now it'd be a disadvantage to be leading the race and an advantage to be running 2nd. Who wants to take the lead and encounter the lappers?? Hands up..
