Added reply in a thread What was the drama during Martins first run with star Yamaha? 11/26/2020 10:30 AM

Another factor in that 2016 season with J-Mart was him training with O'Show and getting put into a deep hole of overtraining and illness. When one gets into that physical state, there is an associated mental part of it that can be very damaging to personal ... more »

This sport is way too small. Every little dust up becomes a big deal. Having said that, I think all of the media could stand to be a bit more professional. Your example of Ping above is good one. Also Donn Maeda taking shots at Works Connection every ... more »

LOL go back and watch MXoN from 2012 at Lommel, 2013 at Teutschenthal, or 2014 at Kegums and then try to imagine this happening. 3 different tracks, one very average Dungey.

I just want to second JustMX here on the colonoscopies. Having a lot of colon issues on my mother's side (cancer, Crohns, UC, etc) led me to get a colonoscopy at age 48 when I started having some GI issues. The scope was really nothing, honestly the ... more »

Mate, my sympathies. As a guy who works in a cancer clinic, and has had some early anxiety over colon issues this hits close to home. It is obviously different for everyone, but I have seen a couple of people in our local cycling community come through ... more »

I think Yamaha has had a rough go with the engine situation and they've also had the most staff in the paddock have to miss races due to COVID. Plus they really had no test rider this year. Cal will help them, but with that engine already homologated ... more »

That kind of makes sense for Dovi taking sabbatical if could roll back into a Suzuki ride. Did you hear Steve Day and Matt Burt talking about Dovi possibly trying to line up for Marc's 2021 ride if he cannot be ready to go? It was during one of the FP ... more »

Yes pretty amazing to see Suzuki on top of MotoGP. They could even potentially end up 1-2 in the points if Rins can land the win in Portimao. Having said that, it is pretty depressing to know that Suzuki low-balled JGR with 300K for 2021. Even staying ... more »

Yes I know, 2nd overall in 2013 too. 3rd overall in 2010. The point here is that despite all the criticism of this program, some riders had career best years (Peick, Grant) and many others had equivalent results at least.

Added reply in a thread JGR Folded 11/10/2020 7:24 PM

True enough. I was thinking more that he was 2nd overall in SX in 2012.

Here comes the Vital cavalry to shit all over JGR. I'd prefer to remember all the guys they gave an opportunity to, either as full-time riders or as fill-ins when needed. Off the top of my head: Justin Brayton and Weston Peick had great seasons on JGR. ... more »

Maybe it will take not having a factory ride for that attitude to improve. Since he's turned pro he's never really faced a lot of adversity in finding a ride or a team. Barcia certainly changed his ways (a bit, let's be honest) after he had to buy his ... more »

Joey is one national title and a few 450 wins and podiums short of commanding anything close to Baggett. What does it say about a rider if JGR is saying they "don't like working with him"? By all accounts this is the most laid-back and easygoing team ... more »
