Can we now leave Roczens injury highlights in the past?

I’d be lieing if I said I didn’t get misty eyed during those final few laps. Kid went through hell and back twice, and who knows what he was battling within himself. I was yelling at the TV when they showed his crash highlights, we’ve all seen it, and I hate seeing it just as much as the first time. He’s back, he looks healthy, he finally got the monkey off his back. Let’s move on, let’s be happy that he’s out there and leave that footage in 2017/18 until he gets inducted into the HOF. Props to Barcia for pushing through last night as well. 🤘🏼

Im with you 100% but you can almost guarantee due to this win...thats all we are going to hear about at A2 during the broadcast.

Remember they are trying to have the shock value for the new or casual fan lurking.

That being said Roczen is one bad mofo and what he had to go through to get on the top step again is just amazing. Im pumped for the guy.

They should not play any pre recorded highlights during main events that only last 15min anyway. They have 3 hours time to cover back storys and not play them during most important part of racing.

Please drop the curtain on those two vids. I cringe badly everytime I see them and it is definitely time for the media to turn the page on it.

Agree. I fast forward or mute and look away every time they show it.

If he posts it I’m sure he’s using it as fuel to motivate and remember what he went through. As for it being replayed on TV, yes everyone has seen it over and over who visits here, but it’s a great storyline for them to keep plugging to the broader less educated audience.

I think the difference between Ken and other seriously injured riders is Kenny kept himself in the spotlight while out injured. Updates on surgeries, rehab, getting back on the bike... while others were just quiet and disappeared for the most part while healing. Like it or not it was probably great marketing on Kens part to keep everyone thinking of him. Glad to see him back to form and helping make 2020 so stacked.

...am I remembering it wrong or did he not get compartment syndrome in his arm? And does nobody realize how serious that is?

Everyone now gets a comeback story. Barcia got one after 1 win last year....the comeback stories and manufactured drama is beyond cringey..

Yes, please, enough pain!
Same with Malcolm's femur.
Over and over again, it's really getting sick.
And on top of it, cutting the actual racing to show them is beyond belief.

WCRider clearly has no idea how bad both lots of injuries were, or does not care...however if that happened to Tomac then I am sure he would be more agreeable

I could not agree with this more. There is not a single good reason to cut to the old crash footage IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RACE. I'm sure there was a battle somewhere on the track we could have been watching. If the broadcast wants to show it outside the race, I'm OK with it but maybe just show it once this season and move on. Same with Malcolm's femur in Phoenix.

Well buckle up because you can probably guarantee that's what's on the broadcast next week in the "Kenny got his first win since his arms" segment

The only other times that footage should be shown is the race where he clinches the championship, and when he gets inducted into the HOF.

Yeah, entirely needless at this point.

I literally turned away this time, just had enough of it. Nothing positive from further sensationalising the crashes, Ken himself has said he's over talking about it, so it's time.

There is no way Shaheen will let that storyline go

I was there and watched it happen basically right in front of us. I can go the rest of my life without seeing that crash footage again.

Does Feld honestly think anybody wants to see Roczen explode his arm? They've shown it probably 100 times since then and I've watched maybe twice.

There's not a moto fan on the planet that hasn't seen that clip... And most of us have seen it a dozen times or more.

It's time, let's celebrate where he is now, and let that past stay in the past.

Never going to happen. That story sells, people love a come back, people root for the underdog. It is the biggest story of the last 3 seasons, they will never let this one go without a fight. This is a cash cow.

Ken wants it to go away, most of the hardcore fans want it to go away but Feld and NBC want it to stay in the forefront. Who do you think wins this battle?

His arm was almost not even savable. Having been married to a nurse I honestly don't think people understand the depth and complication of an injury like that. Most other people probably would have lost that arm, or at the very least not been capable of coming back to anywhere near the same level as KR. Love him or hate him, he has drive.

You are absolutely right. Be prepared to see "the crash" at the beginning, middle and end.
