Cool.
Looks like Beta and Ducati are wearing the same black and red dress to the prom.
Techincally speaking, this thing checks all of the boxes. Really interested to see if it has the same type of success that Yamaha did after reversing their motor. From a consumer perspective, they've done a nice job offering quality components (Brembo, Galfer, Excel) and keeping the cost competitive.
This is at the top of the "next bike" list for me. My biggest concern is availability of aftermarket parts (larger tank, ecu, etc), and the maintenance schedule/cost of the Desmo. I was digging for long term reviews of the 450 and can't seem to find anything. If anyone on here has some firsthand experience with their Ducati, please chime in...
It is a great looking bike. Quality build.

in the PR, there's a nice bit about how the electronics actually monitor and adjust the service intervals based on your riding habits while also factoring the terrain. Pretty cool, I haven't heard of any other manufacturer that offers something similar, but I may also be out of the loop.
44.5 HP stock.. Impressive. Can't wait to hear the feed back from the tests.
Is TLD running a 250 program in 2027?
Um, that's way faster than any other 250 on the market, is is not? Super impressive
Running up to 15,000 rpm is going to be advantageous on a 250 -- definitely in a way that isn't meaningful on the big bike.
Exciting times. So many new bikes
Depends on whose dyno. I think KTM is up to around 45hp on the MXA dyno and Triumph is right there too.
I can't wait to hear it. Riding Ducati road racers is an awesome experience so I bet this thing is gonna be saweet.
I mean Triumph claims 47hp so I’m not sure how much stock you want to put into the brand’s own internal dyno numbers…
Everyone on here was saying how the desmo engine on the 450 will change the game. To be honest the bike is a disappointment.
Gunna withhold judgement on the 250
Being raced in 27' sx and outdoors?
I'm really hoping to see Ducati and Triumph both really pull ahead. I've ridden, and loved both brands street bikes for 20 years. It'd be cool as hell to see Ducati get a moto GP, and an MX championship in the same year.
Ducati does not race to lose, as evidenced by their roadracing teams. Expect at some point Ducati dominating and prices rising exponentially.

What are other 250’s doing for rpm’s now days?
Most run into the limiter 13-14k
The adjustable mtce program would monitor my riding and suggest a piston change at 500hrs.
Both Beta and Ducati have offered amazing bikes for us, can't wait to read and watch these bikes go. I expect they will be incredibly competitive right off the bat. Having moved back to a 250F from a 450, both manufacturers have my eyeballs.
I can see where the 15k RPM will appeal to some riders. Across the board not all that necessary I’d think. If it’s an easy to ride bike with reasonable bottom end, good suspension it will sell. Vet riders represent a large chunk of sales.
Some might look at a 250 Desmoto and think, if this thing can handle serious RPM. Treated right it might run forever, always two sides to the jacks face.
No.
I thought the current philosophy was that high RPMs bind up a chassis and negatively affect handling. I know Deegan has been making an effort to shift more and ride in the “meat” of the power band like Jett and Jorge do.
My understanding was that the advantage the YZ250F had over other bikes in the class was its ability to delivery a torquey power delivery compared to screamers like the KTM.

Power curve is king in 250 and having a broader range of rpm just means you have a bigger usable power curve? I’m just speculating.
That's the philosophy on big bikes where power is cheap/free and great handling is expensive. On little bikes, great handling is cheap/free and power is expensive.
Deegan is making the effort to ride in lower range because he moved to the big bikes. If he was still on a 250, he would still be railing around everyone while revving the shit out of his 250 without any issues.
Lupino was testing it last summer, it seemed to have have some problems with having enough power in deep sand-
Hopefully they were able to get the issues resolved because it sure didn’t look or sound very good at the time…
That isn't saying much, give me rear wheel HP
