Stretch67 Added a reply to Sulli unveiled his IndyCar at NACS today

10/7/2010 1:00pm
It was a tradition for the men in my family to sit in turn 1 at Indy on the first day of qualifying. "He's on it" , "It's a new track record", and the sound of the turbo engines is what I loved. My dad went something like 35 years in a row, I went from like 1985 to 1996...

Stretch67 Added a reply to Sulli unveiled his IndyCar at NACS today

10/7/2010 12:42pm
Sometimes I think I am the only Indy car fan on the planet. Good to see there are others on here. Grew up in Indiana and now live in Texas, been to every Indy race at TMS since it opened, even the last two years where I have done "the double", Freestone and TMS on the same day. I don't...
I live in an unincorporated area (not in city limits), therefore I don't pay any city taxes, but I pay much higher Ins. premiums due to the fact that the only Fire department is a county volunteer force. I wouldn't be surprised if his Ins. doesn't or will require him to pay any fee like this. The Ins. industry will...
I would not pay to post, posting creates content and even through the majority of the content around here is pretty lame it is that content that drives hits and hits drives advertising and advertising drives revenue for the site. Why should I pay to help provide content so someone else can make a buck. Come up with a good...

Stretch67 Added a reply to Has the age rule changed?

9/29/2010 7:28am
Let them race at 16, some people make it seem like once your 18 you can't go back to school. Race, chase your dream for three or four years if you don't make it get a GED and then take some classes at the local community collage, make straight A's and then transfer to a real collage. You could still...

Stretch67 Added a reply to American Pickers or Pawn Stars?

9/28/2010 11:46am
Weather your selling or buying prices in Pawn shops are usually very negotiable. If you are in one that is overflowing with stuff make a low-ball offer. But based of my experiences most of what's in them is junk. On one of the episodes I thought I heard one of them say that they have something like 40 employees. If...

Stretch67 Added a reply to James Stewart...

9/28/2010 7:30am
James hasn't left the gate in a long time. If he does some of the Australian SX races that will help him allot. When James shows up he expects to win and will push to do so which is not always smart, I love that about him and it makes it exciting but not always smart. RD's best chance IMO...

Stretch67 Added a reply to Fixing MX/ SX

9/15/2010 1:23pm
Your forgetting the safety factor. I grew up ridding XR's in the woods and then got into motocross in my mid 20's. I mostly practice now but have done several races over the last 10 years, I ride MX exclusively since the first day on the track. Trail ridding is just boring now. I totally love MX and I'm addicted...

Stretch67 Added a reply to Andrew Short MXon...

9/13/2010 12:18pm
I agree with Paul, (Short is fast and on the gas) but not so much with mccread, Fact: the US as won twice as many moto's when compared to all other countries combined over the last 3 years. MXDN_Link MXDN Results 2007 US 3 moto wins 2008 US 2 moto wins FRA 1 mot win 2009 US 1 moto win...

Larry, I do think you're a great team manager , Championships don't come easy and take a complete team effort. I've never posted anything negative about you or your team and I'm only posting this so you can get my view. I appreciate a team manager posting on here giving us a little insight into what you are thinking, but...

Stretch67 Added a reply to I hate to tell you all this, but.........

8/27/2010 5:39am
On James reality show I liked it (even though it was a typical reality show staged moment) when James told his Mom and Dad that he wasn't racing the outdoors. Big James said something like "where racers that's what we do, we race" The more of Big James I see the more I like him. IMO little James needs to...
I'm as American as they come, but I'm also a race fan and I for one hope he does it. At the end of the day a great race with a lot of drama is entertaining. I hope team USA wins but give me an exciting race. Does this not add drama does it not make the racing better. IMO...

Stretch67 Added a reply to AC at LL's

8/9/2010 11:28am
If AC would have ran stock and mod 85 12-14 some would have called him a sandbagger. I for one think it's great that he is running the toughest class he can. IMO he will lean more from losing than winning by 40sec , just ask RD what you can learn from losing The motor problems are a little puzzling...

Stretch67 Added a reply to BT101 & Searle

8/2/2010 5:36am
There pro riders, meaning they race for money, they should and most often will ride where they can make the most money. Darcy Lange and Josh Dumuth come to mind, they could have rode supercross and outdoors for years and been in the top ten a lot but decided they could make more money racing arenacross. So yes some times...

Stretch67 Added a reply to BT101 & Searle

8/1/2010 3:54pm
Searle might be able to make more money running top 3 in GP's vs running top 10 in the US, especial if he can't ride supercross. If BT101 doesn't want to ride supercross he'll have a hard time getting a good paying deal in the US.

To me it seems there's three basic team formats 1.) Factory OEM. These team don't count on outside sponsors to go racing, R&D and bike sales is what drives them. Until Yamaha pulled out all of the OEM teams had been around for decades. Yamaha is still supporting the sport but it is interesting how this will work for them...

Stretch67 Added a reply to Tomac

To me his suspension looked very soft in that video. Did anyone else think that? Not saying that's a bad thing especially for outdoors, it just just looked soft to me. Maybe I'm just to use to supercross suspension this time of year. Having another fast rookie is going to be fun. He seems to have that right mix of...
