As far as chain tension goes, I always do a swing test with the shock out. Find the tight spot in the arc, prop the wheel up at that point, loosen the adjusters to where it has just a tiny amount of slack, let the wheel back down, then bolt it all back up and measure the slack at full extension. Then you know exactly where it should be without worry.

In less than 25 hours of riding (mainly on small back yard track), I have had to replace the powerplant as well as the battery. Both times the bike shut off with no warning, luckily didn't cause any major injuries. I have seen one other bike with similar hours need a powerplant replacement. Warranty covered the parts, but the safety is a major concern for me now.

I’ve had one for a year. Super fun bike, but I definitely wouldn’t have it as my only bike. Deep or sandy soil will be your enemy on battery life, it drains them quickly. I ride my 450’s waaay more for a variety of reasons.

Buy a Beta 390 or 430 RS. Beta doesn't have all the emissions BS other bikes have and all you have to do is have your dealer throw the RR map in (not necessary but it really wakes it up) and you'll get hundreds of hours out of it with minimal maintenance and need to upgrade parts. Plus you have an excellent dealer kinda close to you, 3 Seas Recreation. Jared is very knowledgeable and super responsive to customers. People sleep on Beta's, but they really are amazing bikes and Beta stands behind their product 100%.

Thanks for the feedback, I really hope I like it as much as you. It's not like a dislike the engine as is, just at 100kg and riding mainly sand tracks I'm always just wanting that little bit more.

For all you guys trying Vortex from XPR and Twisted, make sure you try a 2-stroke filter cage and a vented air box cover. The stock ECU's on KTMs are generally lean, hence the decel pop and tendency to flame out at times. Both vortex I've tried from XPR and Twisted were richer than stock which eliminated these tendencies and they also both responded well to the filter cage and vented cover. And also make sure you are trying all those extra maps on the selector. So many guys just plug it in and never try the other maps.

Appreciate the feedback. I really hope I have a better experience with it and am more impressed. I'm not expecting it to be a completely different bike but really hope I'm not disappointed. I've had just a vortex on my 22 350 and the CUO on my 23 and bang for buck would definitely pick the CUO over the vortex.

Prado just isn’t going get a lot of sympathy from American fans who watched him start up front last summer then use his hand to block roost as he casually worked his way backwards through the pack to the privateers then tell his buddy Lewis how incompetent his team was.

If you're going to wear the red, white and blue, I don't expect you to win. All I ask is that, like an American, you show up, put in 110% and don't give up no matter what. That's all any of us could do in his shoes. He did exactly what he was asked to do. Sometimes that will yield results and sometimes it won't, but I would rather be represented by someone who crashed out while giving it absolutely everything he had than someone "playing it safe" and cruising around midpack. Lucas clapping for Romain as he crossed the finish was great to see. Kind of expected he was going to have a bad attitude for some reason, I guess that’s on me. Feels good to see some good sportsmanship after the shit show in 250 SMX.

I'm baffled by his antics this year, but I'm also old enough to have learned that everybody is fighting some private battle that nobody knows about. His actions have been inexplicable. Also, Deegan sucks.

If anyone is seriously thinking about getting the 350RX, I'd highly suggest putting a deposit down as I think the entire first run is already spoken for (could be wrong but it came from someone who would know). Fair to say Beta will sell every one they make this year for sure.
