Stand on the palm of feet with toes in, this will cause you to grip the bike with your knees and inner thigh, so you don't have to have a death grip with your hands. From the waist down you should be center on the bike, so your knees should not be bent more than a slight bend, from the waist up, you should be in attack position with your head positioned above handlebar pad and a have a straight back alignment and this should force you to have your elbows up in the attack position. Luxon MX Liked a reply to forum topic Forged vs billet triple clamps for vets & wrecked wrists???

The manufacturing process (cast vs forged vs machined) doesn't have anything to do with stiffness. Stiffness is dependent on material and geometry. Cast and forged clamps are often thought of as less stiff than machined clamps, and that's a carry over from old comparisons between cast/forged and poorly designed machined clamps (some current machined clamps are still poorly designed). The machined clamps often have larger rib cross sections than the forged/cast clamps have, and are therefore stiffer because of that, but not because of the manufacturing process. So, don't think that just because a clamp is machined from billet that...

Luxon MX Liked a reply to forum topic 2023 vs 2025 Husqvarna Linkage

In 2023 they changed the bolts and more importantly, the bearings, to a larger size that was consistent across multiple areas to consolidate and save money in manufacturing. That gained a lot of weight, though, for no other benefit. In 2025 they went back to the same size bearings and bolts they used in 2022 and marketing spun it as a method to add compliance, which is nonsense. But it was the right move because the assembly got a lot lighter. The 2023-2024 linkage is not compatible with the 2025-2026 or vise-versa as the hole sizes are all different in...

No. Two main reasons. Usually can’t have all the bikes long enough. Secondly, not a clear route of what the mods would be and what would be fair. Everyone says suspension revalves but who in the shootout is the bike setup for, the heavy guys or the light guys? The fast guys of the slow guys?

That's exactly the reason I don't have Facebook, or any social media. I believe what I experience myself and see around me with my own eyes. I'm not saying people don't have issues with the tbi bikes or any bikes for that matter. But I do believe the issues are blown up to be alot more than they really are by social media especially. You only hear about the bad things, no one cares about your story when it's all good.

I have a 25 SX250. The mapping is spot on and the forks work really well. Basically what a lot of tests say. I was sure to get them revalved but after 7h on the bike they are good as they are. I'm coming of MX-Tech suspension and I was really surprised how good the stock suspension is! You definitly need time to adjust to the engine, but it's worth it. I always rode and raced perfectly tuned 250 and 300 2-strokes by the way. Had a YZ 250 years ago and that bike was nowhere close to my 13...

Update: I read a bunch of reviews today of Dunlop MX34, Michelin Starcross 6, Bridgestone X31, and those mentioned. I see that many of the things I’ve complained about on the MX34 are probably teared to wear and age, especially on the rear. Just looking now my tires probably have 40 hours so they’ve done well. I went with the Bridgestone X31 front and rear. I’ll update after race this coming Sunday. It’s at a course I’ve raced before with powdery beach sand, rocks, and hard pack - literally everything.

Just last week I tried the AT82 front in 90/100 on my 450 and liked it a lot. Ate up square edge pretty well and felt very connected running 14 psi. stuck with a 34 on the rear.

This is why I don't bother with bike reviews. Did they post any lap times? My first impression of the Beta 450 was that it was a little slow. But my lap times were better and I have to be careful to not over jump, so it's certainly not a slow bike. Seems like not having to fight the bike around the track would make a test rider feel like it's a slow turd. Kind of like going 70 in a nice car vs. 70 in a Jeep with the windows down makes the Jeep seem faster. The Beta does...

Great off-season topic OP What I will "cheap" out on: - Base bike (I don't need the latest and greatest, I'll take last year's discounted model and put the money I saved to the suspension upgrades over having the latest year bike) - Pants & jersey - even the base model gear these days is pretty good and often lasts longer than the highest end model anyway. Same as bike, I'll take last year's stuff on discount for gear as well - Lube, tubes, filters, plastics - I haven't had many issues buying the cheaper brand in these areas and...

3strokemx Liked a reply to forum topic Is the 2024 Beta 450 RX worth getting?

10/22/2025 6:26am
I'm a 220lbs A rider and like the stock forks, my initial thoughts are you might have to use lighter springs if you feel they are harsh all the time. After adjusting with the clickers I added 10cc oil for more bottoming resistance. I'm also running the forks at 10mm above the clamp, which shifts the weight bias towards the front.

Is the 25/26 kx450 much different from the 24? I’ve ridden my buddies 24 kx450 a bunch and I’m a little lost at the idea that it’s slow. I own a 24 yz450 and my preferred map is the “hard hitting” map, so coming off my bike and riding his kx450 you’d think according to the bikes reputation it would be a huge difference. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very noticeable difference between the two, but just because it’s noticeable doesn’t mean the kx is slow. That bike absolutely fucking rips! I legit jumped on his bike this past...

50h report Coming back to say I'm really happy with the Beta 450RX. Had a few teething issues to work through, as documented above, but now the bike is really fun to ride and performs great. Pros: Great clutch Great Brakes Great chassis and suspension Excellent traction and stability Excellent in corners, sweep, cut down, stand, sit, it's happy to do whatever you ask. No jerkiness at initial throttle opening Easy to ride but has plenty of power I've had multiple people tell me that the bike looks balanced and like it handles well. I've never had people tell me...

Luxon MX Liked a reply to forum topic FCP race cups vs offset triple clamps

10/22/2025 5:57am
From a geometry standpoint, triple clamp offset and rake are two rather different things. However, increasing offset will result in similar handling changes to increasing rake. Both are noticeable to most riders. If you’re the kind of rider who can go three laps without noticing a flat tire, then these may not be for you! But if you can feel the difference when you adjust your clickers, you’ll feel the difference here. The right way to alter rake is to use what’s typically referred to as “offset races” (not to be confused with fork offset). These are bearing races custom...

He's a different rider these days. He's very focused, and working with Broc Tickle has helped him refine flaws in his technique he wasn't even aware of. He seems to be taking Broc's mentoring like a sponge. Because of his bad starts on the 250, at least partially because he's 189 lbs, he's in the habit of passing riders, regardless of their status. We all know that some riders are fast when they get out front, but have a hard time passing. Garrett is in the habit of passing, and has a lot of recent practice. And he did this...

Hmmm that’s a tough one. Riding gear itself might fall into that category. Some brands low end gear make for great value. The materials are so much tougher…but god I swear they make the cuts/fit so bad they almost force you to buy the higher end stuff. With which some brands wears out super quick. Spending my own money, I would probably never buy a titanium exhaust system again, stainless all the way for durability and cost. I think true A-kit suspension (like the a full Showa kit or WP Pro Components) are some of their worst performance to value...
