LowPsi Started a new thread Podium order

I've been told by someone in the know that in SX the podium order is 3-1-2 (L to R) rather than the traditional 2-1-3. Can someone confirm ? If it is 3-1-2 can someone explain why the departure from the traditional order?

They honestly have no idea. I've seen podiums this year with 2nd on either side. 1 night had the 2nd place in 250s and 450s on opposite sides.

This is an example of one of the things that used to be super-frustrating to me. People want insider info. But then an insider comes here, speaks openly, and spends what was probably a fair amount of time crafting a perfectly reasonable explanation. Then he gets told he's wrong. Eventually, the insider(s) stop responding, and the vacuum is filled with nonsense from people who are speculating, rather than speaking from actual experience.

Many of you are missing what happened... this wasn’t a case of simply letting a teammate by. Haaker’s teammate (Alfredo Gomez) was in 3rd with a big gap over 4th (Pol Tarres), and on the last lap slowed way down to stop and block Tarres, so Haaker could go from 5th to 3rd in the very last turn. Cody Webb was robbed. He rode like a champion in the last race of the season to earn that title, while Haaker made several huge mistakes under the pressure. Sad, dark day for the sport, no doubt.

Just when you think you'd seen it all comes this. Cody Webb gets robbed. "Crash after crash dropped Haaker down to fifth and the title was Webb’s (who by this time had crossed the line and was watching the drama). But Alfredo Gomez pulled a team-mate move no-one could quite believe, blocking Pol Tarres in the final turn to allow Haaker to throw himself over the line as champion. Webb, understandably wasn’t happy, neither was Tarres but Haaker was champion by hook or by crook. *As a results of his move to affect the results, Gomez was disqualified from final...
