Unfortunately, generational talent such as Jett, Stewart, etc. are riders who expand the envelope and sadly are the ones who are first to find its limits. I do believe that the sport may have outpaced its own safety buffer. Injuries are no longer “bad luck” events... they’re statistically expected. The hard part is that anything that actually helps has trade-offs. There is no silver bullet or the manufacturers and sponsors would have done something a long time ago. I think that Tomac’s expectations for SX26 just got quite a bit brighter and he finds that extra 0.5% to win this SX title. I think Joey raced like someone who wanted to win. He didn't do anything I'd call over the top, no heavy contact, no blatant take out moves. Anderson would have and in fact did do the exact same.

Most folk here are just tired of shit and are pretty layed back. We like good food, cool beer and some good old racing. For the most part, tonight delivered, especially that last SX1 race. Folk were going nuts. Hopefully we get another round next year which will see even more spectators. Everyone had a great time and behaved themselves. No hooligans and not one fight....just great family fun. I just got home after hustling for an Uber.

Jason’s not taking a piss on anybody. He started out at Suzuki…made his way to the pro’s on Suzukis…went to the races with his Gran’ma & Gran’pa on Suzukis… He’s just damn stoked to be back to his roots. Back to when it was all… Fun.

If I was living in SA, with SX previously only available on TV, I'd have been stoked with last night's event. The El Hombre/ Savatgy battle was superb. That's the value of the WSX tour - taking SX to people who don't normally have access to live SX. It doesn't have to compete with, or be 'better' than, the USA domestic series. It just has to be high level with some star riders. I've only ever watched Sweden and SA, but based on that I'd say they are succeeding in their mission.

They are going in the right direction each year, if they can focus on being the off season series and not try to compete with AMA or MXGP they are on the right track to get it right. I loved the US Open at the MGM Grand, the Paris SX, more recently the AUS SX races. But if we can combine the various off season races into a "legit" series and give us a third "season" of racing that would be a winning formula I think. I am of the opinion that the degree to which bikes have truly improved is overrated.
