Well, since arguing tends to fuck threads up, what could be more fun than consolidating it all into one fuck you thread? Got a problem with someone, post here instead of chiming in and, jacking a good thread up. I’m guilty of it. Usually, after getting quoted or, simply tired of the nonsense. I’ve seen remarks between Vital members that end up derailing threads. Once again, I’m guilty of it. So, here we are. I’m sure this will end up in the Dumbgeon but, who knows. Maybe it’ll last more than a day. Might be entertaining. Might simply turn into...

"So, if something is working for many people, I'm not concerned about the lack of clinical trials. You shouldn't either. What works, works. What doesn't, doesn't." Blood letting used to "just work" for many people. For all of history people have had this same confidence in their ability to just casually observe what works. Unfortunately we've been wrong more often than we've been right, so putting any confidence in just knowing is not a great idea. As bad as some aspects of big pharna, academia, government regulation is, it's still preferable to the alternative. Every criticism you can throw at...

You're almost seeing it, but not quite.... You're right that pharma manipulates data and plays games with outcomes to get drugs approved. It's very costly for them to have to do this, but such is life in big pharma. But this is also why they go nuts over anything that has promising data and can be easily shown to just work. If there's even a hint of a signal, they're all in. All this supplement junk we're talking about... it's so far from being able to be shown to work that despite their significant past attempts, they can't even fudge...

It’s funny that people think “it worked” with no comparison group, verification of the agent used, testing of blood levels of the agent, and so on. It is far more likely that the positive expectations and regression to the mean led to the outcome, as this is well documented in similar treatments. Since you’re so absolutely sure, I would recommend a job in pharma working in the PR department. You can tell people that something works despite the evidence to the contrary. When people ask for proof, just say it worked for me! It’s like saying the suspension change your...

The “it worked for me” gambit, also known as the post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy is well described in alternative medicine. Whether or not something reliably works has to be proven through studies on many individuals, in addition to establishing safety data, proper dosing, and so on. Many patients have a positive belief in these agents and similar ones, but that doesn’t mean they’re safe or that they work. Last time you posted about these unproven agents, I provided evidence showing your claims were not based in reality- that on average, neither bpc or tb improve outcomes reliably. I...

They don’t work even in clinical trials. Regression to the mean is the norm here. Telling people to take unregulated and potentially risky things without good evidence is ill advised. if they worked so well, they’d be getting funded for additional trials to be brought to market. They didn’t and they aren’t, but people on the internet will believe (and buy) anything.

Should not use an exception to prove the rule, especially from a “trust me bro” relationship. When studied directly, low carbohydrate does do far worse for performance. Yes, some people will be successful in spite of what they do, but that doesn’t mean it’s better. Also no better for health.

I will second this in two ways. First, most peptides and/or sarms are non-controlled and regulated substances so theres no QC particularly. Do with that what you will. Second, any kind of low carb diet has been a nightmare for me athletically. Sure, I lost a little water weight. I also lost the ability to train with any intensity (which is what is therapeutic in the first place). I would advise a good physical therapist who is not into all of the pagan spiritual stuff indigo is talking about. Movement is medicine and it can be greatly supplemented with proper...

Neither of these reliably work for most musculoskeletal injuries based on available evidence. “Peptides” have effectively no evidence for efficacy, despite being in the development pipeline for decades. This includes BPC 157 and TB500. The majority of people buying this stuff aren’t even getting what they think they’re taking. PRP has a pretty low success rate in the few things it actually “works” for, eg chronic tendinopathy. The Carnivore diet would be about the last diet to recommend for an athlete. Treatment of injuries depends on the specific injury and the individual. Many people advocate for unproven interventions without understanding...

Last summer i was riding on the SX track at Revolution in SC. A kid on an 85 was following me ,revving the shit out of his 2T. It sounded pretty cool, and he was on my ass , clearing all the jumps behind me. Stayed on my ass, till i got into a nice loamy berm and ROOSTED THE FK out of him. Thats how the old guys do it. He didnt have any tear offs and hadnt been hit with 2 fiddy roost in a bit im guessing. Ol well, the lil feller learned that day.

I was watching the pro's today on the main track and wondering why they NEVER venture over to the Masters track. (some people call it the vet track) Is it because we do 45 minute moto's like the real men of motocross did? Are they afraid of some of the jumps? (we are friendly and would tow them over if needed) Is it because we all have Go Pro's on our helmets and they are afraid we would block pass them and post it on You Tube? (if we knew how to get it from the Go Pro to the...
