Uri Berliner says Adam Schiff was NPR's 'ever-present muse' on Russia collusion coverage
NPR editor Uri Berliner issued a lengthy rebuke of NPR's media coverage of major news stories over the last few years, such as the Hunter Biden laptop and the COVID lab leak theory, and called out the outlet's "efforts to damage" Trump's presidency.
Berliner, a senior business editor at the outlet, wrote in an essay for the Free Press that NPR's coverage veered off the deep end when Trump was elected in 2016. He cited its coverage of Russiagate first and said NPR "hitched our wagon" to Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., who peddled Trump-Russia collusion claims for years.
"Schiff, who was the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, became NPR’s guiding hand, its ever-present muse. By my count, NPR hosts interviewed Schiff 25 times about Trump and Russia. During many of those conversations, Schiff alluded to purported evidence of collusion. The Schiff talking points became the drumbeat of NPR news reports," Berliner wrote.
After the Robert Mueller report found "no credible evidence of collusion," he wrote, the Trump-Russia story disappeared from NPR's coverage. Berliner said the outlet pretended like it never happened.

You'll come in and say, "funny how no lefties show up",
Green will come in and say, "Rent Free" and "You can't make this shit up",
Bridges will come in and say, "MSNBC narrative blah blah blah",
Worm will come in and say, "This is a huge stretch but the Liberals DID _______, how about that?",
MVD will come in and say, "rights are the most important thing but how can _____ get away with using their rights for this?",
Infammable will come in and say, "Here's a screencap I took",
MXGuy will come in and say, "Nana-nana-boo-boo",

And then, even when I (we) try and engage in real conversation, personal experiences are discarded, data is bent, endless amounts of deflection occurs, and personal attacks are inevitable; often within one or two responses.
It's a boring, exhausting, and endlessly predictable cycle in this echo chamber of the same people shouting the same shit over and over and over. I see why the right leaning folks do it, the vast majority of those who lurk these halls fall in this category and it seems fun to jump into a circle in which you're "chants, heckles, and boo's" are not only welcomed but celebrated, but for those of us in the minority around here it ends up being a massive waste of time to engage as it's been proven time and time again that nothing I say, no matter how factual or compelling or proven it is, will change anyone's mind about anything.
As I've said before, and will say for my final time, this place went to shit when Newmann died. While we disagreed on pretty much everything he was one of the last folks that actually treated people around here with a level of respect that was worth engaging.
