Hi guys. My 250 was not in dire need of any parts or any upgrades, but I’m sitting at home on paternity leave and had some money to spare (you could say burning a hole in my wallet). Excellent - now go ride that thing for 100 hours and forget this debacle! Thanks for taking time to create this thread - I learned some great things (Ring Free, the shop manager at the Yamaha dealership you went to needs to be on a PIP, etc.).

Update: Finally got it going!! Spent a few hours on it tonight and she lives!! New fuel pump GYTR Piston Took the head to my local race shop buddy had him do a mild port, lap the valves, and shim it. FMF Titanium exhaust Some pegs and a few other goodies because XMAS :D

Finding one will be tough... a reputable dealer in Oregon quoted 10k OVER msrp...... absolutely ridiculous. 13k is a good deal, 23k not so much

Okay, so I just took my dogs for a walk through the woods on my property, and it occurred to me that all those people like me who were posting positive thoughts, have simply left and bought their Stark Vargs. They have predictably abandoned you because that's what they, that's what WE, always do. We don't bother with you, because you're like a pest, like a gnat, like mold on bread. We then go on with our lives up there in those houses you admire from afar, houses (like mine) that have car and motorcycle collections and feature motocross tracks...

I rode several Alta's and was planning to buy one but then... MXA would not even test one, I thin because they believed it wasn't a legit MX bike. Like it's been said already, how many of local MX riders can even go full out for 15-20 minutes? I've gone to several MX ironman 1 hour races and the winner ends up being a hare scramble or enduro rider who is afraid to jump.
