I can't be the only one that thinks there is not a chance Eli runs a single race to get points to keep his number. He seems like the type that does not waffle or race a couple of races just to keep a number. His retirement (IMO) appears to be a "I have all the desire in the world to enjoy what I have coming, and zero desire to line up at any starting gate" kind of deal. He has nothing left to prove, nothing left to accomplish, and seemed really happy to be taking the boots off.

Would be cool to see Eli go and try backcountry snowmobiling with Chris Burandt who lives just a short drive from him in Buena Vista. At the end of the day he owes us nothing and deserves his peace and quiet. I just hope he doesn't pull a JS7 and become this mythical creature that no one sees or hears about for many years and then decides to resurface one day. It would be great from a fan's perspective to see him still active in some capacity within the sport.

Obviously I agree, crazy bitches still get dates when they’re hot enough, though. look up the crazy / hot matrix if you haven’t seen it: in moto terms it’s fast fickle matrix I guess If you’re gonna be a pain to work with you better be fast, and he sure is.

I was fortunate enough to see his first race win as well as his beast mode rides at both Hangtown and Glen Helen in 2015. The dude is a phenom and represents moto as well as anyone. Hard work, no flash.

I didn’t like his quitting last year, but it was necessary for Kawi to be like “yeah off you go, bye” Knowing he took a massive pay cut (millions) to go to KTM, that gained my respect, putting your money where your mouth is. He was the best guy in Moto 2 when it mattered today,

I have to think that Levi probably feels weird celebrating breaking the pro circuit bad luck streak by celebrating a 3 race series called a championship I mean he earned it and congrats but it’s a little…overstated

Good on Kitch & PC to finally get one done, even if it is the gimmick championship. Hopefully Levi can use the confidence from this one to finally put it together in one of the championships that matter next season.

I mean, it is almost is Eli or bust at this point. No time to ship a Honda, Kawi, Yamaha etc, the KTM group is pretty plug and play, so they can pivot to one of those guys quickly. The issue is AP, Mookie, and RJ all leaving, so that leaves Eli. Win or not, it would be totally fitting for Eli and Coop to join forces once again and step up when no one else would. USA!
