if it's true they are delayed till January, my guess is its all because of mapping and or the fuel injection. They are too big to miss it. It would be a public relations disaster. Taking their time is the right thing to do for them and us.

It's a Kawasaki.  It's a Gen 1 product.  Set your bar low, folks.  😆

I think its going to be a good bike but like ktm in 23 the first year will have kinks.  If I was in the market I'd go xc/sx  250/300 for now.

The ktm 2 strokes are legit.

I could be complettely wrong and I hope I am but just got my deposit back. More I thought about it the more I realize its a HUGE undertaking to build a close to perfect big bore 2 stroke afte two decades. So much going on with electronics and crap. I decided to wait till next summer for my new big bore 2 stroke from KTM. Ya, it will be a new model also but KTM has been building 2 strokes non stop now and can use data from that to transition into a 350/360 or whatever it ends up being. Good luck guys, hope Im wrong.

why not a Beta 2 stroke? KTM group is not the only option these days.

I want the 327 to be good soo bad, the hype has been crazy and it looks sick! But, I think it's gonna be a pos. It sounds like shit in all the videos and seems slow. Plus it's heavy. I hope I'm wrong. Looks like Kawi still has some work to do and they're pushing dates back...

What makes you say that?

With an ECU, efi, tps, and electronic powervalve, the timing and mapping are all adjustable to tune however mellow or aggressive a rider desires.

I put zero weight in Swap saying the bikes are delayed.  He hasn't been the most accurate source of information in the last few years. I think it's more likely that the media ride day got pushed back to after the public release (which is somewhat normal...happened with the new YZ250f this year) and Swap is not happy that he doesn't get to ride it first and decided to start a rumor.  I could be wrong, I have no inside information.  I'm just basing this off of everything I've seen from Swap lately, more rumors than actual information.

you'd also be going from steel frame to AL frame if you bought the Kawi, if that matters to you. But not with Beta 😉

Respectfully, what brand new big bore KTM 2 stroke model has been officially announced? Just asking...

The ktm 2 strokes are legit.

For me, a factor with the Kawasaki was cost. The KX MSRP is roughly $2,200 cheaper than a KTM XC/XCW.  I had to sink roughly $2k into my current KTMs suspension to get it right.  Will be interesting to see how the KYB stuff on the Kawasaki performs in stock form.

No doubt KTM has their 300s dialed, but you pay a premium for it.

The KTM wheels fit the Betas. Fronts are direct with correct wheel spacers, rears need a 240mm rotor and spacers. If you care about the gauges working, the magnet is in a different location between the two. Many aftermarket front rotors have both hole locations in them.

A lot of the pumpkin parts fit the Italian princesses. I've used triple clamps off my KTM/Huskys on my Betas for example, along with clutch parts, swingarm/steering bearings (linkage is different), etc...

well, respectfully a 350 announced by the big guy at KTM itself. https://enduro21.com/en/news/ktm-hints-at-two-stroke-350-exc-prototypes…

That is pretty much a sweet number set.  150, 250, and 350 2 strokes.  Kawi upped the anti, and KTM may throw down the cards and say, I call.

Big bore 2 stroke shootout in 2028 could be pretty exciting, big if, but what Japanese brand could we see join Kawasaki? I think Yamaha would be the first to jump on board with another big bore 2 stroke with e-start and efi

Absolutely.  Just talking right now id find a left over ktm and let kawi get those kinks out.  There may be no kinks but who knows.  Im rooting for them because in todays the world the 327 and what its bringing to the table is a steal.

Yeah, I'd for sure hold out on the Kawi, at least until a carb conversion is available for it.  🤣

Down vote away boys  😘

Yamaha could definitely spin up a big bore to compete with the KX and KTMs. They're already doing the 125/250 so they have the 2t teams and talent in place so it doesn't seem like a stretch for them. Honda won't ever get back to 2ts and Suzuki is unlikely to release their first true new model in nearly a decade as a 2t. Though, they could do what they used to and just sell the KXs with yellow plastics ala the RM65s. I wouldn't be completely shocked if Suzuki rebadged the 327 but that's not really a new entry.

Based on how that worked out 2 decades ago, I seriously doubt we'll ever see that arrangement again, unless it is with regard to electric motor/battery development.  It wouldn't shock me to see all the Japanese OEMs join forces on this a project like this.

I hope that the KX is good but I would be surprised if the first generation is as good as the KTMs, they have been making the best 300s for 20 years and pioneered all of the fuel injection the past few years and it has certainly been a process.

I have a 2023 300XC with 100 trouble free hours and my wife has a 24 250XCW with 70 trouble free hours both are stock motor and fueling wise except for cutting the idle spring down a hair to bring the idle up slightly.

It gives me a little hope for a solid product knowing that this bike was in development and being ridden by Stew Baylor two years ago (I seem to recall that was the timeline he mentioned).

That, and the fact that the introduction was delayed a year because of changes that were made based on his input.  I know he's a paid promoter, but McGrath sure sounded excited about it on Gypsy Tales.

A deliberately detuned engine package is usually the easiest to liven up, if you feel the need to.

Meanwhile  the aftermarket guys will be rubbing their hands together a la RV.

I watched it multiple times and don't hear anything other than the starter.
