If there in bunches with his extra speed passing will be easy for him

Because he would have gotten second overall.

Deegan is a lot of things, not a lazy person. If he thought he could catch Prado I feel like he would have tried.

Probably because his mechanic in moto 2 had a pit board message that said to cruise it home, Jett's been penalized for his offtrack excursion and you already beat him??

Deegs pit board read, "relax" Jett's been penalized, you already beat Jett. Don't push it!

Yes Deegan 37th to 4th is impressive, but hardly a mention of RJ 40th to 7th, or Prado also crashing on the first lap and back to 4th in the second moto.

They did mention RJ's ride but it was overshadowed by Deegans ride and George's13th to 4th after his tip over isn't anywhere near what Deegan and RJ did

Same here, anyone who qualifies for a national is fast enough to dominate any local races.

I work some D37 races including NCGP. Our fastest guys, who absolutely haul ass, are top 20ish in a national motocross race.

Its is actual insane. I ride at his 956 alot and even the fast Lorreta kids are impressive then you see some old pro get on the track which is faster than those kids and then you have Ty come blowing by you and your just like "how"?

It’s “too hot and expensive” for some of the warriors on here to step outside and go see a race live.

Had Deegan beat Prado in moto1 for third (20points) and got second(22points) in moto2 because of Jett's penalty he still wouldn't have gotten second overall.  Jett would have ended the day with a first (25points) in moto1 and third (20points) in moto2 due to the penalty, that was still enough to end up second overall.

moto1 was hard to watch as a euro even to be honest. It was a complete beatdown. The field is really weak in the us at the moment. It’s depressing to see Prado settle for 3rd immediately and looking gassed. When the competition is stomped by a minute its not a good look in modern racing. I love us racing, good tracks, coverage but Malin is right unfortunately

I think most of the remaining field is mentally beat and their biggest motivation is just getting another ride. Sexton being out for a few reasons, Tomac being a mystery, JCoop being injured, Plessinger being out, and Roczen not doing outdoors doesn't leave many left that think they can even podium.

Points don't matter? A chance to pass Jett doesn't matter?  Seems like surrender.

Maybe if you've got a title locked up you settle in that situation.

Deegan is part of the reason I think the rest are mentally beat. Between him and the brothers I don't think most of the field thinks they have a chance to even podium. He's undeniably exceptional, intentionally controversial, and yes, still a few steps off from the brothers pace in his rookie year.

I figured that's what he did, but if you have it in the tank, it's worth it to keep charging.

Prado dropped about 20 seconds between when Deegan started taking it easy, and the end of the race.

If Deegan had kept charging, that 20 second gap would've closed down to zero.

Also, when riders settle for a position, they're forgetting about the chance that a rider ahead of them can bobble.

If they stay as close as possible, they set themselves up to capitalize, otherwise, the rider ahead stays ahead.

My uncle used to say "The harder I work, the luckier I get".  That's true in Mx as well.

Not this late in the season a smart racer knows it’s a risk pushing it that hard and risking an injury.

Big picture is being fresh into the outdoors 450 class He is still moving up the playoff list so after shuffle he will be a contender there and he will be pushing harder in rounds 2 and 3

He realistically had 3 shots at it.  The start, Jetts off track excursion,  and Jetts crash.  And jett pulled away every time.  Deegs has been force fed some humble pie a bunch this summer but yesterday was the worst yet.

Have to shout out to RJ, he did just as good as Dongerboi cutting through the field. Even the second moto when he wadded up on the fast downhill, got back on and climbed his way up. That was totally gnarly.

Still, team Lawrence puts 2-5 secs a lap into everyone else, hey, at least we have 2 of them dueling it, we only had 1 RC, until Bubba arrived and I think that was too short lived.

Loved seeing RJ out there. No doubt about it, when it comes to getting up and going again after a crash, the dude is definitely the fastest out there.

I remember when local pros would show up for practice. Everyone pulled off to watch how fast they were. They would also re-arrange the berms on the track lol. It was amazing.
