Wowza...did they update and revise the angle of the kickstarter? Didn't see that coming. Suzuki burning the midnight oil on this bad boy. But, the world needs a $6k 450 and this fits the bill.

KYB all around, different upper triple clamp, new Renthal bars, and a revised intake. New app for maps? It’s not just BNG…

ya, aside from  the swap to kyb, updated settings and a few revised parts, this is stuff that should have been out in like year 2 or at most 4.

id be curious as to what  finally prompted the changes  whether it was sales or team feedback or suzuki ceo changes

it did seem like the $6k deals disappeared a few years ago

bike is still gonna be last in every shootout lol. those ama ready exhausts are gonna  lose 1-2 hp on the under powered 250

They ran out of the BARF shock and could finally buy another batch, and luckily made the right choice.  This change alone is enough to get me to buy one.

You may be joking, but I would bet the change to the rear shock has a lot to do with inventory levels. They probably had this change in mind and put it into production when it was time to change suppliers.

The RMZ is still a more capable bike than most people will ever be at motocross.

Because they’ve realized most of us in this sport are too stupid and willing to spend money on the latest and greatest that doesn’t make us any better or faster.

Two bikes I’ve had the most fun on over the last 15-20 years have been the least changed motorcycles… YZ250 and RMZ450 and I’m not faster on those or any of the new bikes from any other brands I’ve ridden.

Yeah, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, KTM, every other manufacturer is bummed they update bikes on regular basis now that they realized they are missing that huge percentage of most fun sales. Cool you had fun on outdated bikes, alot of folks do, most people who do buy them used though.

I hate this argument.  The 2006 crf 450 is probably more capable than I am too, but that doesn't mean I'd want to ride it over a 2026.

My 2 cents.  Hate away.

It seems a lot of people are suckers for the marketing hype of a statements like “completely redesigned” or “ground up redesign”.

What that really just means is “refined.”  And I speak as a designer.

Even the downdraft design change of the Honda is still just a refinement.  The air box is still under the seat etc.

Yamaha’s reverse engine was a new design of the engine that is.

And what is with people saying it is old technology.  The frame is not made of wood.  It doesn’t use dual rear shocks.  What technology is old other than electric start and some bluetooth apps which not all bikes have?

Sure the Suzuki is behind on a few items.
But the chassis design fundamentals were ahead if their time.
Some refinement of the engine and cases is very much needed for power and weight saving and e-start.  But not a complete redesign.

Pipe and intake changes expected to meet new ama sound restrictions.    Interesting choice of wording around each sale coming with an "offer for the "championship edition" for free" that includes a full exhaust.

KYB forks and shock, maybe part interest from riders and pressure from dealers and part inventory supply management.  It could also be for alignment with the SX team.

Re the feedback here on general lack of platform updates.  I think people really want to see Suzuki make a comparable offering, as more choice benefits us.   Its natural to expect a tepid response when updates include bolt ons and not updates that bring more parity against t the competition (e start.)

Showa BFRC shock has been holding this back bike since 2018. With all the testing from HEP Suzuki it was best to go with KYB. Also KYB spring forks have a reputation of being the best motocross suspension and a positive brand image is what Suzuki needs right now.

Thank god they finally threw out that BFRC shock. Long overdue but I could see myself buying one for the right price in a year or 2.

Does the 250f have updated spring rates this year?

Yes, but hopefully it is not consistent with what was in an earlier press release, because it just said they went "more compliant" with the rear shock, rather than fixing the jackhammer fork rates. (Which seems even more out of balance than it already was).

If they would just update a few things like that you'd see a huge resurgence of all the old yellow faithful coming back......

2026 RMZ' 450's are under $7k. The bike is a great deal. The sport needs this bike.

Everyone talk about the Suzuki being a great value, but when I was bike shopping last, I could get a KX450 for cheaper than a RMZ450 and the KX came with e-start, wifi app for mapping, and better suspension settings. I bought the KX and don't regret it one bit. I want to love the Suzuki, but there are just better deals out there for bikes that offer more.

$6,500 OTD for a 2026 KX250  and $6900 OTD for the 450. That is tough to beat. Power Motorsport's in Sublimity Oregon blows out prices. I'm...

. I'm probably going to get a kx250x for a Central Oregon single track bike this fall. I can't stomach $11,000 for a 2 stroke 300.

Thats the real drag.  The Australian xc /xcw line up are the absolute tits but Jesus they are expensive by the time you pay msrp and all the taxes and fees.  Even if you find a low hour used bike they want their money back.

I got my 250xc for 10,5 otd and even though I knew it was a great bike my butthole felt violated.

The 250fs of anybrand make great all around woods bikes.  They find traction where others spin and you can go just as fast if not faster.

The notion that roczen won the champiobship on a 8 year old bike, it doesnt need changing as it beat everything else is simply not true. Roczen raced a HEP that utilises 'some' suzuki parts found on the current model. Webb rides a StarRacing etc. These bikes are so far gone from what comes out of a crate with the labels that we all buy here.

What is more relevent is that the bike has come dead last in every single shootout in both 250 and 450 for several years. Thats more applicable and telling for us. Not what KR94 has managed. Im speachless that we havent seen a single 250 raced in any category for as long as we can remember.

I agree with what most people have said about it being a decent product and so many things can be improved with very minor bolt on tweaks such as the shock, engine mounts, hydraulic clutch etc.

Consumers arent stupid and are not paying a little less for a bike thats 8 years older than one of the other colours.

That was my first thought.

It’s also possible that Suzuki realized spending money on marketing instead of product development has a limit.

Probably both.
