Yeah honestly it sounds more like Deegan's mental games are actually working. This is how he creeps in, pisses you off, gets you reacting, then next thing you know you maybe make a move out on track that you otherwise wouldn't have, or get thrown outside of your flow state. Best thing Jett can do is smile and politely acknowledge him, that would irk Deegan to no end.

30 races in his 450 career.  Only lost 4 overalls - Hangtown ‘24, Washougal ‘25, Ironman ‘25 and Pala ‘26.

Only finished off the podium twice - Hangtown after his crash and Ironman when he hit the gate.

60 motos - 49 wins, 4 second place, 4 third place.  Only finished off the podium in a moto 4 times.

Oh and his MXoN results are 1-2-6-1-1-2-1-3.

Chase at Washougal last year. There was one triple crown race in 2024 where both Eli and Chase went by Jett and finished in front of him but I don't remember which one.

Chase also dominated moto 1 at Ironman last year, but if I remember correctly he only passed Hunter for the lead?

He got a 1 lap penalty for the gate.

OR

Villopoto stalking Dungey and passing on the last lap 3 turns from the finish.

I hope Jett employs one of them though.

Jett also came from way back as well. I don't think he was even in the top 20 at the end of the first lap.

I kind of see Deegan in a must win situation this year. As easily a Lucas Coenen handled him. Not sure when he moves to the AMA races full time. And don't forget, he probably will have his wingman  who will be over here soon as well. I think Jett has respect for the Coenen's..

"a must win situation"??? I think you meant "a must situation".

Seriously, though, I kind of agree with you.  His mouth wrote checks his results have yet to cash.

Renaux beat him the 2nd MX1/Open moto at Red Bud but I don't think he passed him. He started in front of him. In somewhat of a role reversal Jett stalked him the whole moto and couldn't get by him. I was there and was blown away by Maxime's ride that day. It had me expecting big things from him in MXGP. Not many can say they held off Jett a whole moto. It was Jett's first 450 ride but he was exceptional the moment he got on a 450. He beat Chase the 1st moto that day and that was 2022 Chase on the Honda

It’s worse than that, the gap from Deegan to Jett has been growing the last four motos.  15s, 19s, 20s and 32s.

Just lulling him into a false sense of security, then will pounce when he least expects it.

Yep. Jett sliced through the field and blew by Gajser first, but he definitely didn't expect Gajser to keep up with him and be so close with two corners to go and Gajser just went for it with full commitment, frikkin good moto.

Jett did the same with a couple corners to go also on Gajser a year before that at Ernee, it was basically payback lol

Ignoring Deegan is probably not the best way. As someone else just said, say his name, talk nice about him, mention how good he is doing so far, etc. That will probably bother Deegan.

That's  . . .  optimistic.  While I tend to lean toward go high when they go low, Jett piping off now seems more to me that he has measured Haiden and isn't terribly concerned about the title.  I'm sure he acknowledges Haiden's speed and determination.  Jett's goading him.  Haiden says talk motivates him.  Good for us as race fans.

People in this thread are scorched earth scraping their memories to recall when someone passed Jett, and if he was beaten in those very few times.  Haiden is still in the prove it room as far as being an exception.

I can't imagine Haiden being any more motivated than he must be right now.  I'm not sure pin it to win it is going to do it for him, it seems like now on the 450 his next level is going to have to be mastering going slower to go faster.

Putting aside the fan adoration/hate cross fire, Haiden is the fastest American 450 rider right now.  Maybe if Justin Cooper is well and Chase regains consistent speed again you put them in there.  Who knows how Tomac will be if and when he gets back, but even if back fully fit with his lack of consistency on starts and off days (I hate saying that as someone who is as much a fan of Eli as I am of any other rider), it's hard to say he's going to hold Deegan back the way Deegan is riding.  So, if you're an American who roots first for American riders, love him or hate him Deegan is likely to be your best for the foreseeable future.  I don't see any the other 250 guys he's already dominated making that big a leap when they move up until maybe some of Star's really young guys age up in few years.

Trying to be objective, it's hard to see the top three changing much this season.  I'd expect Hunter and Haiden to swap finishing in front of one another.  I have a hard time seeing either Hunter or Haiden beating Jett unless Jett has a bad start/first turn issue, or a mechanical or injures himself.

One of my bucket list items is to get to an MXoN.  Probably leaning towards a European event but would still be awesome in the US.

To be fair, once you take Eli and Chase out of the picture there really isn't anyone who has the raw speed to be in the same conversation, let alone battling Jett.  Hard to knock other riders down for no fight or gumption when they can't get within 3 seconds per lap.

Its even more crazy when you realize that only 3 races in to his debut deegan and jett are now tied for the amount of times theyve been off the podium at 2. Jett has raced 32 races and deegan 3. Its otherworldly the run this guy has been on in the 450 class so far.

Hes raced in 32 450mx races so far and only finished off the podium twice. Hes won 28 of the 32 races hes participated in total so far, so hes won every race but 4… in 32 races. Crazy!

Who would have thought that the Deegan haters would be more obsessed with him than anyone? I think they are closet Haiden fans and overcompensate for it.

Not sure what this even means. Nobody but Haiden is fighting for the best position they can get? Because Haiden was willing to cut the track to get close to Jett he's trying extra hard? Thats one way to think about it

I don't understand some of the media and #38 supporters who say he is making gains towards Jett.  As you said, the margins of victory are staying the same or growing in some instances.  If my rival was continuing to gap me by increasing amounts, I would not feel that I was advancing.
