I own a utility construction company and have done many projects in and around East STL. It's one of the most dangerous areas I've ever worked in and we have completed projects in the worst areas of Miami, Southside Chicago, Oakland, Houston, Newark, etc. The police recommended that we limit our hours on site from 7-2, because after that things would began to heat up and they would have limited response to calls for assistance.

These parents have a delusional expectation that if their kid places well at LL, the industry will open their arms to the family and eliminate the financial burden on the parents, and a ride will give them access to more competitive bikes. I know his dad is still buying parts, bikes, paying for training and travel, etc. My friends son is one of the top 50 and 65 riders right now, and he still buys bikes, pays for engines, buys parts and pays for all...

It's not nearly as bad as it used to be.... and quite frankly, I'm a huge fan of the easy access to the plethora of strip joints within minutes of archview... some of which are quite adventurous... But seriously.... just not much room at archview for really big events... and yes, you can make one wrong turn and be treated to some of the worst the stl has to offer....

As long as idiots keep going, the costs will continue to rise and the experience provided will continue to degrade.

Perhaps Keir believes he and son are larger than the entire team. Probably not or I hope not. If so, that is very toxic. No player/team member is larger than the team/company. Dealt with this sort of thing coaching youth sports and parents.

Hmmmm... It took him 5 days to figure out he had a torn ACL? Seems like Monday at the latest he would have had that checked out. Wonder if it's just an excuse so he doesn't have to finish the season?
