I'm finding it difficult to transfer his videos to this website. What would be awesome is if this website would unlock him. He's forgotten more Moto than most of us have ever known. You know what really sucks is that I'm thinking I'm going to be banned just because I'm posting from hillbilly. Just unlock the guy okay what did he ever do to anybody on this website or to this website.?

It’s not the start…or the amount of riders. But please let’s have a serious conversation about the grates and starting devices. At this point…what’s the reason for them? When they first came out it was still the 2 stroke era and lining up in ruts. How could anyone argue that they don’t contribute to how fast and even the riders are coming into the first turn? Taking them off would do nothing but add separation, technique and strategy to the racing. You could argue about right hand starts being sketchy…or that pile ups have happened since rubber band starts. But...

I suppose at this level the grates don't have the same impact. In amateur without grates, the best gate is the best gate, until it isn't. Everyone uses the best one(s) and after all the motos it's worn out and some other gates are the best. It then becomes a guessing game in which gate really is the best one, it's part of the race strategy. Grates eliminate a big part of that, but I suppose with only 4 motos it wasn't such a differentiator. Still, letting skill and HP offer some separation isn't bad in my book. First turns...

My preference would be no grate, no holeshot device. Let them fix their spot behind the gate for sure, maybe even for the first 10 feet to deal with when someone digs a trench going sideways. It will create more space between riders in the first turn.

I miss the days of riders being assigned a number based upon points earned. At the same time...career numbers are pretty cool and very marketable for riders, so I get that. But single digit numbers for 250 class riders is bogus!
