Well, according to dozens of people last week....The 96 should have been parked once he was 7% slower than field or whatever lol. Imagine the crocodile tears from the Honda faithful. This is why you dont make huge changes to the sport based on the "feelings" of some people. All the ideas and solutions that were discussed last week dilute the racing. Nascar has fallen victim to this mentality...they constantly fiddle with the rules to manipulate the racing. Just run the fucking race.

The Red Cross/ red light incidents were handled way worse than this one.

I don’t like deegan at all….and the rule should be followed and penalties applied…but where the hell was this by the book mentality during the red light/jumping a Red Cross flag??? Where riders actually did gain an advantage, and disadvantage….and no one has asked why the hell are there even track markers before either turn starts. As you saw with Deegan, no advantage was gained. The obvious gain would be changing lanes after the first turn….so wtf were there markers there??? …and before someone says so they have to commit…..I would say….or it would be like the rest of the...

If you can’t quantify it, can’t demonstrate it, and can’t show he ended up ahead of where he should’ve been, then you don’t have an advantage. All you got is a guess. And honestly, the advantage isn’t even the real issue. AMA clearly thinks there was one, so fine, we defer to them as they are the judge, jury, and executioner. The issue is the selective enforcement (or lack) of the rules and penalties. With Deegan they’re throwing the entire book at a minor, low‑impact violation while letting far more blatant, high‑impact stuff slide without a whisper or barely one...

I think the biggest issue is the mishandling of the jumping on the Red Cross flag. How they did with Deegan, the rule is clear. He broke it. He gets penalized. Or like Jett jumping the gate last year. It sucks, it is a stupid penalty, he didn’t gain anything worthy of being penalized an entire lap. But hey that’s the rule as it’s written and he broke it. That’s how they should handle it. You break a rule, you get penalized. Black and white. No gray area or judgement calls. But yeah, like you said, the Red Cross thing...
